Amazing turbo mod

Spool faster, more low end torque.... It'll make your car feel like it's got a supercharger.

Some great, insightful comments as well.

Okay, I understand how and why this works, but something concerns me here...

Don't turbos spin at a horrendous speed? Doesn't that require a pretty balanced assembly? Obviously this is small, so maybe it's not so crucial, but I would still be pretty concerned about high speed disintegration.

Is that the case or am I off-track (wouldn't be the first time...).

"Slices, dices, grates and peels". Did'nt know they still made the Veg-O-Matic.

That's going to be fun to listen to once it starts eating itself.

OMG. Just. Wow.

This HAS to be a joke. Please tell me this is a joke. I'm pretty cynical about how stupid people are at times, and this even astonishes ME. . .

At least precision tack welds were applied.

Best,

Um...I'm taking a welding class for beginners right now and that would get you an 'F'. Love the hole he burned on the left side...

That's going to make some great noises after a few heat cycles...

At first glance I thought it was done with blobs of solder. I can't believe that's actually someone's attempt at welding and they'd actually post it up for all to see.

This simply HAS to be a joke. For the sake of our species - I hope it is and we really haven't gotten to this level. The chimpanzees will be overtaking us soon as the masters of the planet otherwise.

Yeah, my post was very sarcastic. It's a bad thing and even a tiny out of balance is a huge deal at 50k rpm.

I'm not 100% sure if this is a joke or not, but I'd love to see the aftermath. I suspect this thing will either just sieze or grenade in a spectacular fashion sooner or later (probably much, much sooner.

Okay, good to know I hadn't fallen down in the garage and struck my head. That turbo job is pretty scary looking... My dad's commercial truck (Caterpillar inline engine, turbo) has a 1/4 or so thick pipe on the turbo exhaust outlet side. The turbo finally died at about a million or a million and half (had been rebuilt in the past). Boy did that die spectacularly. The rotars just fragmented and when they went out the exhaust, they left huge dents in the 1/4 thick pipe. Not only did Dad wind up replacing the turbo, he also had to replace that section of pipe...

I would be horrified to see what this fellow's handi-work would do...

I'm thinking about rebuilding my 928's V8 with solid cast-iron pistons. They'll probably weigh about 25 pounds each, thus adding 200 pounds (!) to the rotating assembly.

I'll never have worry about burning a piston though-

Moron

THIS IS A JOKE.....

Even if the MORON who wrote it doesn't think so. He is a Darwin award candidate. This doesn't work, It cant work and will never spin up and do anything other than blowup in his face if hes lucky. The beads make noise because of aerodynamic drag. The efficiency is simply nonexistent.

He's a bonehead trying to see how many people will buy this baloney...

His next thread will be how well they work as garbage disposals or osterizers.

Combine that with a cool collar and an E-ram that thing would really move.

Dont forget the gererator. It'd pay for itself if he were to include that.

My 6 year old can weld better than that. Physics is not one of this individuals strong points.
