Priceless

Not to have yet another thread about the iPhone, but I thought this was funny...

Quote:
"If they told me at the outset the iPhone would be $200 cheaper the next day, I would have thought about it for a second -- and still bought it," said Andrew Brin, a 47-year-old addiction therapist in Los Angeles.

I still want to know what kind of idiot buys a piece of consumer electronics - ANY piece of consumer electronics - immediately after its release and doesn't realize they're going to pay a premium for it. . .

Then to have the nerve to whine about it when the price drops later? Are you f*cking kidding me? At least this Andrew Brin guy is honest about it - he wanted it right then, he was willing to pay the premium and that's that. So be it.

WTF, the same thing happens with new cars or virtually any durable good. The initial buyer at initial release pays way more than someone who's willing to wait a few months. Cripes. Plasma TVs used to be 10 grand.

Does anyone but me find it funny that that quote came from an addiction therapist?

I think the irony in that was largely missed. I got a chuckle out of it.
