The Jets are such a bunch of whiners. Can't wait for December. The next time they face off they'll be lucky to get off the field alive.

911boost 09-17-2007 01:41 PM

Norv Turnerr is a terrible coach, look at his record. San Diego deserves everything that happens to them for letting Marty go.

I'll reserve judgement for the Pats still.

They should have forced Belichek to dress up for the games, not like a bum.

Mule 09-17-2007 02:00 PM

Great sign. I wonder if he considered It's only Cheatin' if Ya Get Caught. Belichick can win every Super Bowl & he'll still be an arrogant, cheatin' pr!ck.

There, that good enough for you?

sammyg2 09-17-2007 02:41 PM

Belicheck rules, patriots rule, I'm all smiles this morning.
I was surprised at how fired up and physical the pats were last night, basically they all looked pissed!
I agree that the jets are in trouble the next time they play the patriots, they better bring bodyguards.

dd74 09-17-2007 02:44 PM

The Pats were good. The Chargers sucked. End of story.

JCF 09-17-2007 02:50 PM

I am so proud of the players.
No matter what the coaches did - and I am still disapointed that they would cheat (if it quacks like a duck...)
The players showed they are winners.
As usual , Tedddy said it best .

And;
San Diego showed that even if they may not cheat they have no class.
So if they play 10 times they would beat them 9 ? Eh LT ?

sammyg2 09-17-2007 02:55 PM

Yeah, what's up with LT? 1.9 yards per carry, Is he hurt or just phoning it in?

gprsh924 09-17-2007 03:08 PM

Cheating must have been the way the Pats won three super bowls. In no way did the perfect passes that Brady threw to Moss for touchdowns have anything to do with it.

Mule 09-17-2007 03:21 PM

Flip the coin. If they're altogether so superior, why cheat & look like *****s?

the 09-17-2007 03:27 PM

I'm neither a fan nor a hater of the Pats, but they were good last year, and they are far better this year, with their 3 new receivers (all very, very good) and their additions to the defense. Could it be an undefeated season? Maybe not (that's really, really tough), but they are not going to lose many games this year.

on-ramp 09-17-2007 04:11 PM

wait till Harrison comes back in game 5

CJFusco 09-17-2007 05:02 PM

From what I hear, practically every team does the "cheating" thing with the camera; Mangini was only trying to play a head game with Bellicheck (sp?) ... yeah, as if THAT's gonna work.

I really don't follow football all that much - to tell you the truth I don't know much about the game. But I do sit down and watch a game from time to time, and from what I've seen, the Patriots simply look like the class of the NFL, and I think a lot of the "Pats-hating" just comes from envy.

Just an outsider's .02.

mattdavis11 09-17-2007 05:17 PM

I don't really hate the Pats, just don't like em that much. I guess what started my down fall from kind of liking the Pats to wanting to change the channel if they were on TV, was the reference that Brady is a QB that should be placed up there with the likes of Bradshaw, Montana,, and Aikman. If he's that good, why did the Pats always seem to be scraping out wins (big ones) off the foot of Vinatieri?

There are 15 other QB's in the business right now that could do what he does with that team.

I have to agree.

I really think the coaches blew it.
They have fantastic players and excellent coaching preparation and game plans, but they must have felt that wasn't enough somehow.
Like they didn't believe that was enough.
Or they get so involved they don't know where to stop (even if they get a note from the comish).
Always looking for that "unfair advantage" always leads to some crossing of the line.

But I also think the media feeding frenzy was ridiculous.
That's what I like about Belichick, he suffers no fools. He apologized, paid the fine , and got back to work. No Opera (Winfied OR Sigfried).

1fastredsc 09-17-2007 05:31 PM

Congratulations on the win, i wish the raiders had the same luck (shanahan calling a timeout before our field goal kick, grrrrrrrrr).
I will say however that as a raider fan norv turner is useless and when i heard that the chargers were getting turner as a coach, i new that things would sooner or later go down the drain for the chargers. I didn't think things would turn this fast, but LT with 1.9 yds avg per carry is garbage, hell even the raider's lamont jordan is ranking up 4.5ish per carry right now (only two games though).

You must have started switching the channel awfully early in his career...
Certainly the media once again makes it hard to like a lot of "THE GREATESTS OF ALL TIME !!!" (always before they really earn it) in all sports, ..
It isn't Tiger I hate, it's the way sportscasters drool all over him.
He (Brady, and OK Tiger) is WITHOUT QUESTION one of the very best.
Look at the stats. Look beyond the stats.
Those winning drives in the Super Bowls were HIS.

You must not remember Montana and the 49ers - all the last minute wins.

So what. One win against a team that didn't show up. The pressure all on the pats to win one legitimately now and its a long season. Face it, even the Patriot fan hate Belichick. Its one thing to win, its another to have the rest of the nation hate your team.

They didn't show it , but before the game began a picture of Belichick was put on the big screen - and the entire stadium rose to give him an ovation.
No - not because he is a cheater, but because he was being attacked and when you see a member of your family being beat on you back him up (even if they do something stupid and deserve some of what they are getting)

Porsche-O-Phile 09-17-2007 05:49 PM

Then beat us on the field. If you can.

Blah blah blah, etc. its hard to believe that after all of these seasons where
Tom Brady was basically throwing to NO good receivers on those Super Bowl
winning teams..... and still putting up VERY GOOD numbers while winning 3 SBs
with NO good receivers..... (anyone heard from David Givens lately? hello?)

If you have a chance, go back and look at the Patriots receivers rosters
since TBs first year as the starter in 2001. Go back and tell me....where
are the good receivers? Troy Brown was good... and also maybe
Deon Branch....(maybe, but Branch is predictably disappearing in Seattle
with a different QB isnt he??)

Now that he has some GOOD receivers, Brady's numbers are more than
VERY GOOD, they are OUTSTANDING. 80% completion rate.....6 TDs 1 Int....
On the way to a 4th SB Win? Perhaps....

and what about the intangibles.... surely a QB is not just judged on his numbers.

Manning and Brady are 2 of the best of all time... both are eligible to be and
should be considered among the top 10 QBs of all time.

Anyone who does not see that about Tom Brady....really should
re-evaluate themselves as a football fan, particularly where it comes to
evaluation of players and talent on the field.

So enough already....
