PS...the post interestingly enough came from Irving Tx.... and mentioned Aikman.

OK...compare Aikman's numbers, which included 3 SB wins with a Hall of Fame Wide Receiver
to throw to....and a Hall of Fame Running Back behind him...

show me those numbers....compare them to Brady's (who has had no Hall of Famers to
throw to or to hand to)

(hint) Troy Aikman threw for over 20 TDs in only 1 season in his entire career (!!) with HOF'ers all around him...

http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/players/stats?playerId=53

How has T. Brady done? 5 seasons over 20 TDs all ready, and on his way to a 6th

http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/players/stats?statsId=5228

The statistical comparision between Brady and Aikman is not even close.

Brady wins by a landslide, with much less talent around him.

Belichik got smacked for the same reason Martha Stewart went to jail, being a pompous ass. He got busted for this last year at GB and was warned. Then the NFL issues a memo on the subject. This arrogant pr!ck sends the SAME GUY who was busted last year back into the stands to do it again. Do it again Hoodie! Show the commish who's in charge.

"beian a pompous ass".
If that nets jail time I'm investing in prison construction mutual funds.

He does the same thing they all do, I just don't think he gives a rat's ass if he gets caught. It doesn't really matter anyway, the Pats are so talented this year, they will only have themselves to blame if they can't pull out another Superbowl.

I think he gives a rat's ass now. Let him poke Gudel in the eye again. He'll be coaching shuffle board.

Porsche-O-Phile 09-18-2007 05:34 AM

Hmm. . . I heard their meeting was "amicable" but who knows. . .

Mule 09-18-2007 07:06 AM

A little reference material for you Pattys. When Montana won his 1st Super Bowl he did it throwing to household names like Earl Cooper & Mike Wilson. Brady's very good but he's no Joe.

Red Baron 09-18-2007 07:17 AM

So, do the Patriots SB victories now need an * next to them?

This is a lot like what the Barry Bonds hater's seem to chant in my opinion. If BB record breaking ball needs an astrick, so do the Pat's SB Championships.

What' funny is that the Pat's get caught cheating and there is nobody gets suspended. The Coach should have been suspended a few games in addition to the fine. An assistant coach on another team has a prescribed medication that is banned and gets suspended but an active head coach gets caught cheating outright and there is no suspension. A double standard perhaps?

Porsche-O-Phile 09-18-2007 07:52 AM

Best way I've heard it put is thus:

If Goddel had thought even for a minute that Bellichick wouldn't be back with NE next season to fix this mess, he'd have suspended him. The fact that he will be (rumor is until at least 2013) shows the comish has some confidence in Bellichick to remedy it.

This is much ado about nothing anyway. It really is pretty inconsequential and people should give this a rest already. There's a HUGE difference between taking a few video clips of signals (which are varied normally every half anyway) and shooting up steroids your whole career in order to inflate your numbers. In the former case, it's a marginal advantage at best, in the latter it can take a decent player and turn them into a record-breaking gorilla.

Really, Ron Jaworski said Sunday that if you knew defesive schemes on every play you could complete 75% of your passes. Then showed a play of his when he knew. Simple touchdown.

So signals change every half? Do you believe that? Is that how you did it when you were coaching? It was a coach taking PRESCRIBED HGH for a medical condition. Do you think that inflated his numbers?

The advantage is far from marginal and once again, the guy who got suspended was a coach. I'm with the Baron get out the asterisk!

deathpunk dan 09-18-2007 10:20 AM

The clown from TN has the sack to say anything about the Pats when Jeff Fischer coaches the Titans?

Puh-leaze. Fischer is a punk and so is half his team.

Brady is one of the all-time great quarterbacks. I thought this was put to bed years ago? People far more knowledgable than some TN hayseed all agree. Brady = Hall Of Fame QB.

Mule 09-18-2007 10:38 AM

Great post deathpunk. 'Ey grow 'em smart up your way huh?

JCF 09-18-2007 10:46 AM

Ron Jaworski couldn't have completed 75 % of his passes if the defense never made it onto the field.

But he never had Belichick.

sammyg2 09-18-2007 11:09 AM

LOL reminds me of the rams when they were in anaheim.
The joke goes that the scoreboard flashed:
Will the woman with the 11 kids please come pick them up, they are beating the rams 24-0.

Jaworski's opinion doesn't carry much weight with me. I've heard him say things many times that I thought were complete BS.

Joe Montana is my all time favorite QB and IMO the best that ever played the game.
I also think Brady is in the top 10, maybe even the top 5 of all time but that might be a stretch.
I have no doubt that he is either the best or second best QB that is currently playing the game.
Sometimes I think he's better than Manning, sometimes not.
maybe it's because Brady makes it look so darn easy that is seems like it's no big deal.

The reason I like the pats is because they are one of the ONLY teams in the league with class.
No showboaters, no mouths who can't shut up, no whiners or attention-whores (not to mention any names, but his initials are Terrell Owens). No stupid 'look at me" antics or rehearsed childish games in the end zone. No athlete arrests of the day.

Bellichick won't stand for that kind of low-life ghetto attitude. Heck even Randy Moss is behaving himself this year.
The pats represent what used to make football great. That team first, me second attitude is what makes them winners.
In comparison the raiders and bengals represent what is killing the sport.

Damn Sammy, we agree on something.:D

sammyg2 09-18-2007 11:22 AM

Yep, we just had to dig a little deeper to find something we have in common.

A couple months ago I posted something that Nostatic agreed with, maybe I'm just gettin less cantankerous in my old age SmileWavy

Mule 09-18-2007 12:06 PM

I'd rank 'em Joe, Bradshaw, Snake, Brady, Peyton. Everybody talks about Bradshaw being an idiot, not too many idiots win 4 Super Bowls at QB. I bas a lot of that ranking on leadership & team inspiration.

I couldn't agree more. I grew up in Michigan rooting for the Lions when Night Train Lane and Wayne Walker were playing there and I'll tell you it's great having a team like the Patriots to root for now that I live in New England. They are football like it used to be - no BS, just put it on the field at gametime. As far as Mule bashing Belichick - you couldn't be more wrong. He is the complete opposite of being a pompous ass, he might come off that way only because he doesn't get involved in all of the press BS - he won't get into it - it's just and only about football with him.

Truthfully, which one of you guys wouldn't want the Patriots coming out of the tunnel on Sunday as your team with Belichick as the coach?

I actually hope that the public bashing continues because the best team in football with a chip on their shoulder is a fun thing to watch....if they are your team.:D
