Pole smokin' senator not resigning. . .
http://www.cnn.com/2007/POLITICS/10/04/craig.arrest/index.html
I especially got a chuckle out of the seventh paragraph, "Craig, however, did get a show of support from fellow Idaho Republican Sen. Mike Crapo. . . " [is this guy for real? He does know Craig got busted in the Crapper, right?] Ninth paragraph is especially amusing: "The defendant, a career politician with a college education, is of at least above-average intelligence," Porter wrote. "He knew what he was saying, reading and signing." [since when does being a career politician get equated with "above average intelligence"? LOL!] This'll be dragged through the news for a while longer. Keep them feet tucked in while in the bathroom stall gents. I might just start squatting on the seat to be safe and not "misunderstood" by any homos in the next stall!

Lar, time to just shut up and go away quietly.
I'm a Democrat and all he's doing is dragging down his party and everyone's cumulative opinion of politicians in general...if that's actually possible.

Craig is an embarassment even to lifelong politicians. If anything, his example teaches others to NEVER admit guilt or sign a confession.

I'm not pro or con gay, in fact, I don't think its anyone's business. However, I find the double standard humorous. What he essentially did was proposition someone for sex. How is it different than if a straight guy tried to proposition a female traveler while in the airport bar for a quickie in the handicapped bathroom, or to join the "Mile High" club on the plane? I'm sure he did solicit sex.

While I think he did what he was charged with, I think the evidence was pretty slim and never would have gotten him convicted. His fatal flaw, however, was his own imprudence in confessing. For that there is no excuse. He should know better. I'm a nobody and I know a lot better than to confess something to the police.

He was trying to hide his behaviour, hoping the conviction would go unnoticed.
When the news broke, he committed to resign. Then he broke his word, saying he'd stay if the plea was withdrawn. Now he's breaking his word again, saying he's staying to clear his name and serve his state via all his seniority and committee positions. Even though, he's been stripped of all his committee leadership posts. Basically, he's exposed himself as a dishonest, unprincipled person who puts himself ahead of his constituents and even his party. If he resigned as he should do, the Republican governor of Idaho would appoint a Republican replacement and everyone would be better off, except Sen. Craig. I suppose he wants to spend his $575,000 campaign funds kitty before he goes.

I am glad to see "pole smoke" is catching on.
I added that term to the urbandictionary.com like 2 years ago. It was during a fight with Joeaksa. |

I used to be a regular on a radio show in Chattanooga. With a New Orleans accent, my voice was easily distinguishable. While making a bank deposit the person behind me asks if I am frequently on the radio. I reply yes. He tells me that he finds my comments entertaining & I thank him. About a week later I'm in the drive the drive thru at the bank & he knocks on the window. I roll it down & he tells me that he was very "disappointed" with one of my recent comments. At this point he is acting pretty "effeminate,' for lack of a better word. I said really, what did I say. "You referred to gay men as pole smokers," he responds.

Actually I think Jay & Silent Bob coined it back in "Clerks", but I could be mistaken. Claim it if you want. Sorta' common phrase.

So Barney Frank (dem.) has a "roommate" running a gay prostitution ring from his apartment. Embarrassed? Well...no. It's who I am. Resign? You must be kidding!
The problem is ...the 'gay republicans' need to learn from the 'gay dems' about shame. There IS NONE!

Gerry Studds's escapades, while still a House member, puts them all to shame. Mark Foley? He was a boy scout compared to Studds. Studds actually did what Foley fantasized about, was never prosecuted, wore his censure as a badge of honor and got reelected. So spare us the party labels. Crooks are crooks and they transcend party politics.

The part I don't understand is how you get sexually turned-on with people *****ting and pissing all around you in a public can. That's some sick schit.

____________ Yes ...it certainly would not be pertinent to mention Party affiliations when discussing ...POLITICAL misdoings! ???? These are not your 'average joes' on the street, caught in some sex scandal. So when was the last time we actually had a 'statesman' elected ...anywhere? Name them. Refer me to a coherent, insightful, relevant, speech on the floor of the house or senate in the past several decades.
