I chuckled when I saw a T-shirt for sale in a Boston store: it had a big "18" on the back, with "D-E-M-O-N" spelled across the top.

The Pats are 8-0, with Brady having already thrown 30 yards in touchdown passes (the record for a WHOLE SEASON being 47), and they are averaging about 44 pts. a game. An undefeated season is a probability. Moss and Brady are in line to break a number of records, and the Pats are Super Bowl favorites.

The Celtics are about to start their season being Finals favorites (after trading for Ray Allen and Kevin Garnett), after having the 2nd worst finish last year

The Bruins are expected to suck, but they are off to a 10-6 record. UCONN football has started 7-0, and B.C. football is ranked #2 with a 8-0 record. Has New England EVER seen a fall in sports like this?!?

GO PATS! GO CELTS!
I guess you need some consolation...after all you're still having to live in Boston

What is with the games running so late? What about the younger fans and little leaguers??

I guess it is more important to run tons of beer and other commercials aimed at the nightime demographic than it is to groom the next generation of fans...

Anyone else find it funny that Budweiser (a MLB sponsor) had their Clydesdale team parading around Coors field?

I'm going to laugh my ass off when A-Rod ends up in a Red Sox uniform for '08

Could happen. His numbers are very good and Epstein (et al) play the metrics/numbers very well and use that as the basis of their payroll decisions.

Personally I wouldn't like it. I can't stand the guy. He's good, but nowhere near good enough to justify the sizeable ego and attitude he displays with regularity. He'd be corrosive to a team environment and I'm not certain how one quantifies that or works it into the equation to calculate an offer amount (if any) for someone.

Then again, people said the same thing about Randy Moss and he's working out okay, so who knows. . .

I think Moss may have finally grown up. Gay-Rod on the other hand, is still a child, with a gargantuan ego.

I still remember him leaving Seattle and saying it wasn't about the money.

I'll puke if he's a Red Sox next year.

Well, Lowell winning the WS MVP award certainly helps the case of the Red Sox saying "we're not interested in A-Rod". I believe that's what John Henry was saying as recently as yesterday.

I think the Sox can do just fine without him.

He'll go to the Cubs if they open their wallet.

Isn't Pinella the skipper of the Cubs? I could see that happening quite easily being he was in Seattle when Gay-Rod was...

The Cubs would actually make sense - they're a team that's used to dealing with guys with huge egos as with Sam-ME Sosa. They could handle A-Rod's bullcrap. Not a lot of other teams would have the patience for it.
