What I want in an iPhone.

I thought you had to backdate the software if you were running 1.1.1..
and I've heard horror stories about turning it into a brick?

Only must-have is Outlook integration, so can replace my Blackberry. Otherwise, I'd still have to carry the Blackberry and work won't pay for the iPhone plan.

On the nice-to-have list, #1 is a 3G network. Been spoiled by Verizon EVDO, lately getting 700kbp/s down when signal strong. Everything else on the nice-to-have list I have faith will come w/ Apple software updates (e.g. more landscape mode) or third-party apps, or I don't really care about it that much.

I did notice that even using WiFi in Apple Store, the iPhone browser isn't all that fast (e.g. loading PPOT index page involves some waiting) so I'm thinking that the improvement of 3G over EDGE might not be that dramatic, not like it was going from 1XRTT to EVDO on Verizon. Just guessing.
