911S Prices
Is this a realistic price for this car?
It seems high if it was perfect, but it isnt 100% original....

It's a realistic price for two of those cars. Even then it's on the high side.

Pretty proud of that, isn't he? It's by no means an original S either, there's some pretty substantial modifications.

Since you're asking for opinions:
A) I don't think that it will fetch that price, but then I haven't been tracking the wacky early 911 market lately. As you correctly state, it is not original. It's a restored car, with lots of changes and parts more commonly found on an RS replica. How it can be "numbers matching" and have a 7R case is a real head-scratcher. However...
B) It is a beautiful car, with a lot of tasteful and *not cheap* mods. Personally, I would have to see/drive/inspect the car up close and personal before considering any big $$ deal. If you are considering it as an investment, you must be a trustafarian or just won a big accident settlement. No one who actually made $$ in the real world would "invest" in that car at that price today. If you have silly $$ and don't give a schit, $100k is insignificant, go for it! People buy new 911s everyday for about the same or more. This car will probably depreciate faster, though. ![]()

Not by a long shot. I'd say 45-50k if it's solid with recent mechanicals. I would not call that a resto. His price would be for a solid all original #2 car.

It will sell. Go to the Early S Registry and see what's going on the for sale forum. Good cars now cost $50k+, excellent cars a lot more. Someone had posted recent sale prices where numerous Esses had sold for over $100k. They subsequently removed the prices. One 67S soft window targa fetched 147K or so.

That's really testing the market, IMO. I don't think that will sell.

These ads are designed to push the market.

Porsche was a very small company back then and when they had a new part they threw it out on the line and it could have ended up anywhere. BTW: $100K for that car is just stupid and we know there are stupid people out there.

Non-standard door panels, something missing from the air intake.

Ok, so we are all on the same page.
I remember a few years ago my friends wife told him he had to sell his precious M3. Well, he listed it for $75k....he told his wife that had complied with her and listed it, but sadly no one wanted to buy it. I was thinking maybe this was the same tactic. PS If anybody wants my 911SC Cab I would be happy to let it go for 95k....

FWIW, I probably left $50K on the table when I "sold" my car to Evren. Stupid of me? Nope...because I know the car will never be in the hands of those money changers in the temple...

You got it...but you have to admit, it's a better car than the one they are asking 95K for....stay tuned for photos of Evren's car in front of Istanbul landmarks...
