Any update Byron? Please say that Carrera rested nicely overnight, and is feeling much better today...

byron, boy do i know this agony. i'm saying prayers for the both of you this evening. i wouldn't wish this feeling of helplessness, this experience on anybody. pet lovers get it, and we feel your pain, byron. we're right here with you. this forum literally carried me for several days after i lost my lil buddy lilbear. i had him almost eleven years..i can only imagine how you're feeling with double those years of love invested. hang in there, byron..stay close to him..
best,
ryan

Unhappy

Well, he is resting, lets me know when he needs to go to his box, then drinks a bit of water. Can't really stand & isn't eating, just sleeping & stretching. If he starts slipping off his chair (from stretching) he lets me know (I have a shirt draped over him) so I can readjust him. He is very weak, but he still has good spirits, his vet said all I can do is keep him comfy. He is getting very thin, I can only hope tht he snaps out of it.

Thanks for the kind thoughts & prayers,

Nothing has changed, other than Carrera getting weaker, still right next to me, but the vet will be here in about 10 minutes, so I have to wait to see what he say, but the out look isn't good, he isn't in pain, but he hasn't eating in a few days, but still drinking

Carrera is in my and Bob Rosso's thoughts. Drinking water is a good thing. Keep coaxing with the food.

Turns out his kidneys were failing, the Doc said pretty much wore out.
So, to make sure that he didn't suffer, I let him go out with dignity, the Doc said, he might last another day, but would start to suffer, so I let him do it

He out lasted multiple girlfriends and 3 fiancees.

Carrera, you will be missed
I think I'm going to take the afternoon off and go down to the club and toast him on the river.

Byron, it's hard. Go to the club and celebrate your buddy.

Byron, we're so sorry about your loss. You gave Carrera a great life, and you did the right (although very hard) thing by letting him go out with dignity.

Byron, I am so sorry to hear of your loss. As you may remember, I posted a few months ago when I lost my Persian cat (Pugsley). I know what you are going through, just as many others do here. It is a tough time and my thoughts go out to you. Now, go have that toast to Carrera.

RIP Carrera!

Byron,

So sorry to hear of the passing of your dear friend. I know he appreciated the good life you gave him, and your companionship over the years. When you are ready, you should adopt a new pal.

The picture below is Mr. Hobbes. We had him since he was a little kitten until I had to let him pass last year. It was the hardest thing I ever had to do, but he was riddled with cancer and in pain. I still miss him meeting me at the front door when I come home, and following me from room to room of the house.

Godspeed Carrera, you are among friends.

Byron...all of us who love our pets know how you feel. Too bad knowing that doesn't really ease the sorrow...only time will do that.
