186.5 today.

I think some before/after pics are in order.

I feel fantastic.

I'm not sure what to do here. All of the weight/height charts suggest 150-175 body weight for my height- 5'10".

That's seem a little scrawny.

Good job.....you lost 45.5 lb and grew a inch since you started this thread. :)

"I'm currently 232 and I'm 5'9".

trekkor 02-20-2010 11:25 AM

My real height is 5'9.5"-

Good work Trek! I am down around 10lbs, now hovering around 190-192 and feel much better too. I am about the same height as you and totally agree that those "charts" are out of whack. If I dropped below 180 I would look like a death camp victim or something. I'm aiming for 185 and will see show that feels/looks when I get there...

trekkor 05-17-2010 09:20 AM

Still 186.5 :)

My Weight in Porsches

Started at 106 KG (233 lbs), now down to 91 KG (200 lbs). Its more fun in KG as I can see my weight in Porches, got to 99.7, then past 99.3, getting to 95.9, finally to 91.1 after passing some front engine water cooled models.

campbellcj 05-18-2010 10:02 PM

Coincidentally I got down to 186 too. Lightest I have been in many, many years. Unfortunately a painful TMJ episode was a contributing factor - couldn't each much solid food. It's on the mend but now I'm trying to keep my diet at roughly the same level of calories as I found I easily got used to the lighter eating over the past few weeks.

trekkor 05-18-2010 10:49 PM

I'm targeting 175 by the end of the month.

I hope your jaw feels better, Chris.

Thanks, I do feel better and am getting some sleep now. My dentist fitted me with a little device that prevents clenching/grinding at night. With that, plus avoiding certain foods, plus Advil, the headaches and jaw pain are just about gone now but I'm still way behind on sleep.

Weight-wise, I think 180-185 will be a good level for me. I've got a thick-necked & broad-shouldered sort of build. I feel significantly better at 18x than 200, that's for sure, but I think I would look and feel sickly if I dropped under 180. Hard to say since I haven't been there since my early 20's...

I saw 179 briefly and am now hovering at 180!

I'm going to hang here for a while!

I'm at 190.4, I've lost about 15 lbs since Spring started. I hope to get under 180 by the end of the Summer.

campbellcj 06-23-2010 07:46 AM

185.0 on the dot this morning. Woohoo! Lightest I have been in 15+ years and I am feeling pretty good, too.

Good work Guys.... I am staying between 137 and 141... Need to focus on weight loss and love at least 5 pounds and firm everything up...

Schrup 08-05-2010 08:38 AM

I touched 178lbs after my run last night. I may be able to lose a few more pounds before I start to hit the gym this Fall. A 176lbs is the lightest I got a couple years ago when I was training for triathlons & tracking everything I ate. I'm pleased that I didn't have to go through the PITA to record everything this time & was able to get results eating smart & paying attention to my body, especially my heart rate.

I feel I'm over half way to my fitness goals. I hope to be in good enough condition to enter an Olympic distance triathlon next year, but I'll have to spend many many hours in the pool to get there. Here's my run from last night.

Almost 20 pages to read, by the time I'm done I'll have gained 5 lbs ;-)

Would it be fair to ask for a quick recap of the best / most efficient / most surprising - unexpected ways you guys lost the weight ?

Obviously, exercise more, eat less, generally speaking, but a recap of the "discoveries" could be interesting...

**14 month update**

I held on to my weight for a while.
Then I started eating stupid again.

Large portions, bad choices and no turning back.
I went back to 227 by Sept 2011. ( 47 pounds gained in 13 months )
I went back on my diet again and have gotten back down to 206 as of this morning.
( 21 pounds lost in 1 month ) :)

Finding self control and will power to maintain a lower body weight is tough for me.

Keep the faith Trek! I've been holding right around 175, down from 200-ish. I had no idea how much better I would feel (and look, no doubt) with this relatively modest loss. I never felt downright fat at 200, but was certainly not healthy and often felt exhausted.

I'm sure you will find your stride again soon. Plus, it will make you faster on the track!

Hey don't feel bad - it's hard keeping the pounds off when you reach middle-age...which denial or not is where many of us are at.

I don't think there's any one technique to stay trim - you just have to have that as your #1 priority and then figure out what works for you and your lifestyle.

Stay focused and best of luck this time around! ;)
