I know that. You mean he's still running ads in MI or are you talking about those before the primary?

Just flipped on the Republican debate happening in Los Angeles.

Only 4 candidates invited . . . and Ron "3%" Paul is one of them!

There are a handful of powerful media conglomerates that control the media these days. Ron Paul says some good things, but he also says some off the wall libertarian things that aren't acceptable to the establishment. In that sense , he is like his opposite, that Kucinich fellow. Both are marginalized by the media. It was all Paul could do to get Fox to include him in their debate.
Obama also has some of that same idealist appeal. We'll see where that takes him in the big primaries coming up.

my opinion - looking at the war, national security, economy, health care, education, immigration and all the other issues talked about - the media in this country is the biggest problem and threat of all. You can't trust any newspaper or tv to not twist the truth, omit facts or pick what to report; to the point that it is of little use as information. Too many people believe it and take it for absolute if it reads like what they want to believe.

Just curious...with what would you replace the media with?

Seems to me that the media (while certainly flawed) in the USA is one of the biggest differences between our form of government and the despot nations of the world.

I think its a lot worse than flawed but I'm not suggesting that it should be replaced. I would like to see an honest one. I know, very idealistic.

I'm complaining but I don't have a good answer. The first amendment should not be touched. Its just a shame that many or most in the media hide behind it. Maybe in the future web blogs will offer more accurate news on government and will become more a mainstream source for information.

Ron Paul will do well here. I hope he does.

BTW finally got my bumper stickers today. He's my guy this year - win or not. I can't stomach either of the (D) candidates and I can't particularly stomach McCain (due to his ass-kissing stance towards illegal aliens), Romney (totally fake, plastic pretty-boy) or Huckabee (who I fear would start mixing religion and politics in dangerous ways). The only sensible choice as I see it is Paul.

No, he won't. 3.2% is my over/under. Hope in one hand and **** in the other, see which one fills up first.
