Some studies indicate increased risk of certain dementia. Seriously, would not screw with you on that.

Comforting words. "Mallet and Anvil." Wouldn't you agree this is a delightful phrase, Nostatic?

You will be told to take it easy for a couple of days. Based on the information I've gathered over the years, I suggest you accept this advice with firm resolve. I've had friends who felt good and decided to get some things done around the house during the recovery phase. They now recommend against this.

Your, ummm..... product will lack the volume it once had. I used to think that component of your.....product was small compared to the stuff that's added just prior to....the nozzle. Not so, apparently.

You'll be shooting blanks. That entitles you to wear the T-shirt.

Below is what I had, my doc was one of the two pioneers in his method and he teaches it nationally (as it was explained to me) He doesn't use a scalpel or a hammer and anvil He uses a pointed forceps and that's it. You don't even get a stitch, just a band aid and that comes off when you get home.

I felt next to nothing.

Vasectomy (No-Scalpel and No-Needle)

Vasectomy is one of the safest and most effective methods of permanent birth control. It is much safer and less expensive than the other most common contraceptive surgery, tubal ligation. For these reasons, 500,000 men in North America choose vasectomy each year.

Conventional vasectomy blocks the vas deferens, preventing sperm from being added to man’s ejaculation fluid (semen). A local anesthetic is given, and one or two incisions are made in the scrotum with a scalpel. The two vas deferens are revealed, cut, and blocked. The incisions are then closed with sutures.

No-Scalpel Vasectomy

A safer, less invasive procedure, the No-Scalpel Vasectomy (NSV) reduces vasectomy’s already low complication rate. Developed in China in 1974, it differs from conventional vasectomy in how the two vas deferens (vasa) are reached. Worldwide, more than 15 million men have had the procedure.

Benefits of NSV

•Less Discomfort
•10 Times Fewer Complications
•No Stitches or Sutures Needed
•Quicker Recovery

No-Scalpel Vasectomy requires no scalpel. Instead, the physician avoids complex surgery by carefully isolating the vas deferens using the fingers of one hand. The vasa are then fixed just below the scrotal skin. A single small opening in the skin is made with a pointed forceps. The vasa are then delivered through the skin, cut, and sealed in a conventional way. When the operation is complete, no sutures are needed to close the tiny opening.

No-Needle Anesthesia

The No-Needle version of NSV was developed in recent years and has already been used in thousands of vasectomies with superb results. No-Needle NSV uses an advanced technique to anesthetize the scrotum without needles. A spray injector administers four to six small bursts of anesthetic. Patients feel only at most mild discomfort similar in feel to having a weak rubber band snapped on the skin.

The doc gave me a valium and vicoden to take before I got to his office. Then a few shots of local, but it still felt like he was standing on my balls. After effects were minimal and after a month I couldn't feel even the slightest difference.

My brother had his done a few years ago and said it was no big deal. I'll be getting mine done soon and it will be a big deal (to me, at least)!

All that stuff will build up in there and you'll explode in a rather nasty embarrasing accident.

I had mine done years ago at the University of Arizona Medical Center. One real Doctor and 3 trainee nurses/staff. No cell phone videos at that time.

Absolutely no regrets. Very little discomfort. No performance problems.

Exactly. When I had mine - many moons ago - the doc even asked if he could bring some interns in. I had a half dozen watchers . . .

And only very, very mild discomfort for the rest of the day. That was it. And the effect it has on the female is not negligible. No birth control necessary! They really like that.

Well without going into too much detail it was more...how you say....gooey. This only lasted a week or two.

Now aren't you glad you asked

No problems whatsoever...over 20 years ago when I was 26 (long story). Got a BJ on the second/third day post op from then wife with no probs. Makes sex with fertile women much more stress free. Worst part was shaving your genitals pre-op.

An ice pack helps for a few days post op. Now ice is a fun variation/accessory from time to time.

What Dueller said reminded me that people told me the first load after would be uncomfortable. This was not the case.

Nostatic,

There's nothing to worry about. Really!!!!!!

I went to the doc during the lunch hour, he went snip, snip in 10 minutues, gave me pain killers, and told me to home and rest.

So I hopped on my motorcycle, didn't take the pain killers, and went back to work until 6:00 PM.

And nothing. No pain, no muss, no fuss. It was a non-event.

And it has been the best thing ever. Paule is 12 years younger than me, and we did not risk her life with a hysterechtomy for her, and now our sex life is as great as ever, there is no fear of her getting pregnant again (two kids are enough), and life is unchanged because of it.

Everyone I know who's done it love's the end result.
