The WORST Movie

The worst I can remember, I watched TV Saturday night, Tom Cruise in War of the Worlds. It started out stupid, got worse, and just stayed with it. I can't remember sitting through something so bad. Nothing fit, the ending was as bad as the start and the middle. I know there are some bad movies out there and I have watched at least part of some, but I SAT THROUGH THE WHOLE THING.
No alcohol involved. But there should have been some.
WaterWorld wasn't good
Istar or whatever it was, was bad

This was as bad as I can remember.

No the worst movie is Hairspray. That was playing on a recent Westbound flight to San Diego. Took off the headphones in ~ 10 minutes and reviewed spreadsheets instead...

My kids watch that one over and over, and listen to the sound track any chance they get...

What you didn't enjoy Dakota Fanning screaming for hours?

I think that one with "Jar Jar" was worse.

Ohh, you need to look a little further for some of the worse flicks. Some anti-oscar winners I caught in the theater.

Battlefield earth. Fellow Scientology John Travolta in L Ron Hubbards epic about Humans versus aliens. I had to wear a seatbelt to keep me in my chair this movie sucked so bad.

The Avengers, a early odd comic book adaptation. Uma Thurmon's Leather clad form couldn't erase the silliness of Sean Connery dressed up in a giant bear suit. 1/2 the audience walked out in the first hour, and the rest of us wish we had by the end.

Wing Commander. The part where the giant alien cat turns its head and you can see the rubber suit gap open and see the actor's neck is one of the few "production" failures in this suck. I refuse to call it a movie. Sadly it wasn't even the worse production error.

I'm going to stop now, and get a sandwich and think good thoughts.

What about those Victorian-time British movies that come on on Sunday afternoons (and last night, apparently) that my Mother-in-Law (and wife, sometimes) watch? They're supposedly chock full of "character development." (Translation: tortuous boredom.) Do those count? They're too painful even to have on in the background while I'm walking in and out of the room doing other stuff.

Exit to Eden

Rosie O'Donnell plays a detective who must go undercover disguised as a dominatrix on bondage island. also stars Dan Ackroyd and Dana Delany.

I'm not making this up.

Anything that John Waters did prior to (the first) Hairspray. How about "Lust in the Dust"? Pink Flamingos anyone???

(I was going to post a clip -- but it was the the one part of the movie that I've honestly spent the last 25 years trying to forget! Ugh!!! but you can watch it yourself on Youtube. Here's another one... )

The funny thing is that I saw 3 of them as a triple feature. That took endurance!

I try to forget about the worst films I've seen but some just stick in my head...

Be Cool (the follow up to Get shorty)

Congo. Really really bad!

The Transporter (action movies don't get any worse than this)

xXx (Oooh action movies do get worse!)

Nope. You've all got it wrong.

Leaving Las Vegas.

The worst actor in the world (Nicholas Coppola--though I hear he is a cool guy in person) and the worst actress in the world (Elizabeth Shue).

The plot:

Coppola: I'm an alcoholic trying to kill myself. Don't fall in love with me.

Shue: I'm a prostitute. I love you.

Coppola: Ack! I'm dead.

Steve PH - couldn't agree more about Congo! Horrible movie...

I must confess, I didn't mind the Transporter too much, fast driving, cute chick, although I kinda thought deflecting a rocket propelled grenade with a tea tray was a bit much...
