Nimitz class deck is 57' off the water. The BUF is obviuosly flying more than a few feet above the water. Must be some POV wierdness happening but I agree, it's not at 1000'.

I sorta remember seeing a Tomcat at a Pt Mugu airshow with the bunny on the tail, but as I recall it wasn't painted dark blue. Just the usual Navy gray.
I wouldnt be surprised if the Navy dumped the bunny after Tailhook !
