Accusations? Everybody went into denial mode, started staying it was ugly when proven wrong, then started atacking the original poster.

That is an elitist attitude. It is the kind of thing I expect from the BMW forum, not the Porsche forum.
"Everybody" didn't go into "denial mode." You might want to look in the mirror...you are trolling to "prove a point." Get over it. Some people are "elitists" (according to your definition), others aren't. But you evidently are desperate to point out our foibles...that smacks of serious insecurity.

And don't talk about yourself in the 3rd person - it is elitist

Bottom line is there's a reason the Nissan is cheaper than the Porsche. Because that's what people are willing to pay for it - better numbers or not.

That whole "free market" thing is a real b*tch ain't it.

Beyond that I think this thread is long-since dead. Any attempts to make a point here have failed I think. All we've established is that Nissan makes a fast (but ugly) production car in the GTR and that Porsche makes some fast (but beautiful) cars that people line up to pay 2X as much for. There's a reason. Draw your own conclusions. Next.

Fixed it for you Jeff.

Everyone's getting a little too easily into name calling, everyone. ToddM is obviously passionate about the whole package including things you can measure. He (as do I) wants Porsche to get better, but is disappointed in the direction the company is headed. He'd like to see on a forum where people are interested in the marque whether there are others who look beyond heritage and looks. Probably he was hoping to see if others were as upset with P that aren't getting off their collective fat/satisfied @sses and up the ante. Instead, people are apparently satisfied that their performance marque (heritage from performance) is becoming another company built solely on history and not what is happening today. Or even because it looks better... -a poor substitute for performance on a performance-oriented BBS, and costs twice as much.

And BTW Jeff, obviously Nissan can sell it for more, since all the dealers are getting $10-20K premiums for the vehicle in its non Vspec form.

EDIT: Next a bunch of youse guys are gonna say ya got religion - ya believe in Porsche...

So are we to all bow down in awe of the GTR? I ran my McClaren SLR into a tree on purpose 'cause I heard the GTR was faster. Get a grip?

Actually, for me its less about the GTR, than what Porsche is willing to do. The previous example was making the Cayman the uber performance car over the 911, or a completely new platform.

Geeze, I get it. If you had read my posts early in the thread you would understand that! Heck, I was even supporting your position regarding performance.

My response with the RSR was in response to Peter.

You may not be a troll, but your style and attitude is trollesque, FWIW.

Good luck with that.
