QUOTE: "No hate, but maybe just a little dose of southern-style racism. Did it ever occur to you that Americans might respond positively to _any_ candidate with something good to say?
In fewer more digestible words: It ain't cuz he's black." ______________________________ Nice try ...but no cigar. It's EXACTLY because he IS black that the man is still in the race. He's a junior senator, with no accomplishments, no record, no real plan, that doesn't deserve to be at the same podium with H. Clinton. His entire candidacy is based on wealthy white backers, that dislike the Clintons and 'HOPE' that getting him elected would 'CHANGE' their long suffering guilt over slavery/race relations. He is their clean, articulate, messiah! ("Oh Lordy ...please deliver us from our evil past, so we can stop making the AIDS virus and keeping the black man down! Amen.") Your candidate "with something good to say" is saying ...nothing. McCain will rip this empty suit apart this Fall, when real issues are debated.

______________ Well, Shaun, you are welcome to review my previous posts regarding Obama. You will find that early on (before his, his wifes, his associates true characters emerged) I too had HOPE for the man! I would LOVE for a woman (similar to a Margaret Thatcher) or a black man that could actually help HEAL the racial divide in this country would emerge in my lifetime. I really don't care if the candidate is white, black, yellow, or orange with yellow stripes, I do vote the issues however. Neither Hillary, nor Obama, pass the test for me.

Hard to believe some of the things that cause offense to some people.
Calling someone "sweetie"? Good grief. Every time I go to the coffee shop on the corner the old broad that runs the place calls me "sweetheart". Who cares? And as for these candidates making the odd mistake after a year of non-stop campaigning, what do people expect? Most of us in their position would be blithering idiots at this point. I am constantly amazed at the hate that gets spewed out on this forum. Lot's of angry people out there.
