Growing pot?

So I have been thinking that I don't make enough money lately.

Just make sure you don't go over the felony threshold.

There is a certain number of plants that triggers the big F charge. Find out what it is, do not exceed it. :-P

Legal here in CA with a doctor's note.

Once in a blue moon the feds will go bust some medical-use home grower just to stroke themselves, but for the most part it's live and let live for the "medical needs" types.

About 1/2 mile from me there's a billboard from a local doctor who can *ahem* review your medical condition and *ahem* determine whether you're a good candidate for medical m.j. 1-888-GET-KUSH. No joke.

I know a guy personally who has had a partial hip replacement (in his late 30s, currently in his early 40s). Very painful as it's starting to fail (he'll eventually need a full replacement). He claims that pot is the only thing that makes him feel better (and yes, he's been prescribed other medications). He's no spokesperson for medical m.j. use although he could be I suppose, but all I'm saying is it's probably high time (no pun) we as a society got off our collective high horses (no pun) and let people determine what's best for them.

If people want to use it in their own homes to have a good time or whatever, who the hell cares? Besides the cotton industry of course (read the history of illegalization - it was largely a lobby by the cotton industry to kill off hemp, which is actually stronger, more durable, etc.)

Typical federal government - clinging to a "holier-than-thou" position borne out of the so-called "War on Drugs" 1980s political grandstanding effort (Ronnie Reagan) while all the while spewing lies about how they're for "less government intrusion in peoples lives", "smaller government" and of course kicking back untold billions to Afghani poppy growers and puppet governments in Central/South America in league with cartels producing coke and crack. Last I checked coke, crack and heroin were a lot more of a scourge than a few guys toking joints.

Stupid.

If someone wants to toke up, I say let 'em. Regulate it, tax it if you want, etc. A suggestion to Uncle Sam and the DEA here - sometimes it's actually okay to admit you're wrong and change your position on something when it's obvious you ARE wrong.

Did it as a kid and its not hard. Problem is that its not worth getting busted, so better to stick to booze until you retire and get too old for the cops to hassle about it.

The felony threshold isn't what you need to worry about. Here in Minnesota the threshold is something like an ounce or two. What you need to worry about are the charging guidelines, specifically what gets you from state court into federal DEA territory. I don't know what it is specifically, but growing or holding more than one person can use, or having a lot of money, or being caught selling any amount will get you felony charges as a dealer. Again, there are different levels of felonies. Where thebreakoffs are can be determined pretty easily.

Also keep an eye on your electric use for your lamps. There was a really good article in High Times about effective pruning (but that was several years ago), you can go to your public library where they may have all the archives. You can prune your plants to yeild more buds, but you have to get them past that certain point. (Not that I would know, I had a friend who told me

Sulfur bulbs will give you the same output with less wattage use.

Back a few years when I was still subject to spasms, seizures, roaring nausea and neuropathy, MJ was a great alternative to all of the narcos I was prescribed. Plus I slept really, really well!

Better ask Mary Ann from Gilligan about that, she is 69 years young

How the f*ck does increased electrical usage automatically get associated with home-growing hydroponics anyway? I mean, ANYTHING can cause a spike in usage (of electricity) - a new television, a second refrigerator, switching to electric heating from gas, an air conditioner. . . All these things have fairly substantial current draws. I wonder what inspires someone to look at the "bump" on your meter and say "oh, they're growing pot - go kick their door down!" Guilty until proven innocent? Or is there more to it than that? I'd think a bump in electrical use by itself wouldn't NEARLY rise to the level of probable cause necessary to get a warrant. . .

2 plants at a time in Va. where I used to grow Hydro. That was 8 ozs every 100 days. That was many years ago though.

There seems to be a grow house busted every week around here. My brother the retired cop says only the greedy guys get caught.

I bet every Ag student at every university has a plant in his dorm room.

Don't forget, it's a "gateway" drug and you could be spun out on heroin or LSD next, living in the gutter....
