Phoenix scheduled to land on Mars Sunday

If you haven't heard of this, I find that kind of cool.

It's amazing that we live in times when a human-made, computer space machine is landing on another planet to such little widespread fanfare.

Best,

I hope it doesn't run into Russell's teapot along the way.

Very cool, thanks!

Pretty sweet. And sad, because Britney Spears and American Idol are bigger news than landing a craft on a distant planet. The dumbing down of our society continues......

Its mission is to find ice on Mars, so future astronauts can keep their beer cold while hanging out on the red planet.

"But Mars is a cold planet now; the average recorded temperature on Mars is -63? C (-81? F) with a maximum temperature of 20? C (68? F) and a minimum of -140? C (-220? F). "

Matt, it's all relative. You'll still need to ice it down before the ball game. I'll bring the chips and salsa.

Just hope that the solar panels come out so that they can keep it powered up.

Great accomplishment! Funny how America always seems to be the country to be on the forefront of exploration like this.
