Sex and the City - a movie review

I won't embed the video here. It contains strong languange, and may be unsuitable for kids. Or work. Or the wife. Or the mistress.
But dang, it's so funny.

Called my friend in Portland, he answers with:

"Is this Sonny"
"No, this is Cher... I got you babe.. nuh nuh.. nuh nuh..."
"Say your pretty quick"
"Yeah it makes up for my bad looks, what are you doing?"
"I just saw sex in the city"
"Don't tell me you are by yourself!"
"No I'm with Lisa, we are walking into the restaurant... I'll call you later"

later that evening on voicemail:

"I tried calling you before I got drunk... I'm going to try to cross the street without killing my self... not that it would matter..." sounding angry but laughing.

I'm guessing he didn't get laid that night.

Yep - that's funny!
I consider myself blessed because my wife can't stand "Manhattan Douchebags on Parade". There is NO WAY we will be going to see it.

Drove past a theatre in Westwood the other night just as it was getting out. I'm not kidding you, I did not see one single dude. Lots of cute college girls, though. 100% chicks.

Weren't the real life role models for the girls in "Sex and the city" a group of gay males?

Hahahaha, you guys make me laugh, in a good way obviously.

I went to see it, thought it was quite funny in places. The characters are caricatures and the actors play it like that, not like a soap opera where it's all so bloody earnest. It was light and fun, a good way to spend time with my wife and clock up mega brownie points.

I try not to criticise stuff I haven't experienced but each to their own LOL

Straight Man Accidentally Sees ‘Sex and the City’‘
Terrifying’ Experience, Says Home Depot Clerk

A self-styled heterosexual man from Akron, Ohio said today that he was “traumatized” over the weekend after attending a showing of the new Sarah Jessica Parker film, “Sex and the City.”

Hendrick Colton, 34, said that he bought a ticket to the summer blockbuster “Iron Man” at his neighborhood multiplex but wandered into the theater showing “Sex and the City” instead.

“The minute the movie came on, I knew something was terribly, terribly wrong,” he said.

Mr. Colton, a sales clerk at a Home Depot in the Akron suburbs, said he tried to leave the theater immediately but was seated in the middle of a row, making it impossible to escape without causing commotion.

“Everyone around me was laughing their heads off and shouting ‘You go, girl!’” he said. “It was terrifying.”

A spokesman for New Line Cinema, the company that released “Sex and the City,” said that the film grossed $55 million over the weekend but that Mr. Colton was the only heterosexual man known to have seen it.

Friends of Mr. Colton who spoke on condition of anonymity said that the Akron man seemed shaken by the experience of seeing the movie and was concerned that others might now doubt his longstanding claim of being heterosexual.

Davis Logsdon, a professor of human sexuality at the University of Minnesota, said that a straight man could attend a film such as “Sex and the City” without experiencing any change in his sexual identity.

“A heterosexual man could see that movie and remain heterosexual at its conclusion,” Dr. Logsdon said. “Having said that, it’s totally gay that he did that.”

That reads like a piece from The Onion, nice! The only excuse for seeing that movie is sex. Lots and lots of sex. Fortunately my wife has no interest, so I dodge that bullet.

Screw that $hit. It was the GF's B day weekend last week Friday and Saturdays were surprise parties thrown by exclusive "cliques" she has,

Sunday was devoted to going to that movie. Her Mom was in town. I escaped when I appeared with tix to Rush in Portland.

She straight up asked me to go and told her hell no. I find out later her, Mom,, gay Jim, her buddy Grace and her BF Ronan (who would never be mistaken for homo)

I'm all "So, Jim's Ghey, what's Ronan's excuse?"

Her: "He's a good BF that's why!"

Me: "Yeah he is, I'm not going there, don't forget it. You make me go we're going to a MMA match after that"

You need to lay out the ground rules. Whomever said the characters were carcatiures was spot on. My problem is that after they see an episode, they think guys should really be like that.

Favorite line from the review: "I would rather drink a cat pi$$ martini while watching reruns of Gossip Girl at Derek Jeter's house than see that movie." Oh, the horror!
