Here comes Edouard

If the 5 tracking models are correct, you'd better fill your tank today!

I'm heading out in 15 minutes to fill the X5 and get 20 gallons for the generators. The wind and rain don't bother me; it is the potential for power outages, and 100 degree summer weather that bothers me.

Of and there is a chance it will change from a TS to a Cat 1 Hurricane. I hope so, it's been 3 years since hurricane sex! TS sex is only so so...

Lets not get carried away. I haven't seen any tornados in a long time.

Yea, the propsect of going days on end with no power in sweltering 90+ degree heat with mosquitoes infesting everything doesn't sound fun. Best of luck to you and the Texas contingent.

As a point of note, I don't think SoCal has ever gotten a hurricane/tropical storm/etc...

Cali has it's own amusement park of natural disasters, earthquakes, mud slides, wild fires....

Actually, Socal did get a TS/TD while I lived in San Diego. It came up the Sea of Cortez and crossed. It wasn't worth much by that point.

You'll never get a good hurricane, since the water is basically too cold. 85-90F surface temps in the gulf intensify these things.

The Funny thing, we're going to have a beautiful day today, just before it hits. We have a lot of unprepared people. I've filled the cars with gas and will have 20-30 gallons of gas soon for the generator.

Red, I'm 50 miles south of Houston, consequently 50 miles nearer the projected landfall. I may be headed your way!! If it gets too nasty, I'll evacuate to my son's place in Lake Charles.

This has the potential for a bad event. I am low on beer. The projected path this am drew a line that seemed to directly intersect my house. Red is on this side of town as well so if any looting/shooting starts I want him to know that I'm on his team.

I'm not worried about gas because I won't be going anywhere, beer on the otherhand is a serious concern. I better run out at lunch and stock up

Putting the pool chairs in the garage with the BBQ. I am fairly close to the water down here but the house is on a berm so we should be good.

Already filled my tank and got a 24 pack. Should hold me over for a night.

HURRICANE PARTY!

Cool. I was afraid we were going to gloss over this "almost out of beer" thing.

just got hit with one of the outer arms of rain going your way. had to be 1/2" or more rain in 15 minutes. So glad I canceled delivery of the excavator and put off digging the new pool today.
