LOL, man is this thread going down hill fast.

"A Chrysler owner! Kip, Chad, Trent, quick, belittle him!"

LOL. Just remember, my car won't be in the shop for 10 hours to fix a cooling line for $2000. For $2000 i can just buy another one. And if i go to the auction, maybe 2. Then i can sell the first one and have a car and my money back.

My Porsche does take about 10 hours to change the shocks though. :-/

What can i say, i like my Porsche's to be all Porsche originals.

God i love that car.

As for Lebarons, i've always liked the look of the convertibles. But then i like almost all convertibles by default.

It would have been cooler if they just named it Barron. The 'Le' part makes me think of snooty French Swimmers who can't swim as fast as their mouths talk.

On a real note, my Uncle Bought a Lebarron convertible for $2000 about 6 years ago and it is running like a champ.

They're really great cars. I've had 3 of em. Got em all cheap at the auction, sold them all for a 100% or more profit, and got a few months of free driving out of each of them. One of them had 168,000 miles and still drove great. The one i have now has a mere 103,000. It's close to needing struts(about 90 minutes to replace all 4, and maybe $200 in parts), but beyond that it is 100% mechanically sound.

3.0 Chrysler motors run forever.

My wife had a LeBaron Convert when I met her. It had the faux woody side panels and everything That was motoring in style.

Wood panels on cars are horrible. Real or fake. I've never liked that look at all.

Tim,
Looks like fun... Not! Good thing you're mechanically inclined (to say the least) and have the shop, tools, etc... to DIY this. Good luck!

Thanks speeder. A lot of my posts are intended as good fun caricatures of my actual opinions and views, so it's good to know that some are receiving them as intended.

I used to have a job as an electrical estimator for a local electricians outfit. I was at an older black guys house one day and installed a ceiling fan for him. The whole time he stands there intently watching me work. So i get down, give him his bill, and thank him for his business. He then asks me if i want to make a quick hundred bucks, so i say sure, what does he need. He says with a dead straight face, "Watching that cute white ass of yours has me worked up, i'll give you a c note if you 'take care of me'."

My response was straight forward and immediate, "Sir, i carry a gun...have a nice day."

Perhaps it was the Daytona Turbo i was driving. Also a gay hairdressers car and i didn't know? I mean, i could see if i drove a miata or a boxster. Perhaps i am just too pretty.

Seriously, what's not to like? I have always thought the Lebaron converts were gorgeous cars. Still do.

Hey m21

All in good fun.

I got so tired of horsing around with my Audi when the Ford dealer offered me $4k for it I about fell over. My Ford Freakus has a warranty and gets 30 mpg. I just pray I never get hit by a bus. As quiet and comfy no, but I can deal with it.

As for my overpriced evolved VW, yes you could say that, but then again I'm not sure a 911 is supposed to make sense. It goes fast, stops fast, looks cool, costs a lot, and has all the interior space of a phone booth and is just about as hot in the summer.

My dad had a Plymouth Reliant K when I was growing up. I have never touched a Chrysler since. It rode like Pa Ingall's wagon and was repaired monthly.
