still here of course. got the stereo cranked to 11 with ted nugent stranglehold, 30 days in the hole Humble Pie, some Robin Trower, Jethro Tull, Jeff beck, led zep, wishbone ash, even some tower or power... what Hurricane? I'm so cranked up right now it wouldn't matter if everything blew away. curfew starts at 6pm and my niece wants me to go sit with her. her first hurricane away from home and she's quite the sissy, might have to play some Tommy Castro and lloyd Jones to mellow down just a bit before I go there so I won't be bouncing off the walls with nothing to do. there's so much swamp and marshland between us and the gulf I don't think we'll get any flooding. haven't had any in the 52 years I've lived here. we didn't have any for Andrew and it zeroed in on us.. if it does flood no problem, I've been covered in sand so much this summer from all the pools I've done, there's a beach starting at my front door and spreading thruout the house, all I need is the water

We were driving back from Monroe this afternoon and saw 3 356 coupes (1 white, 2 red) headed east on I-20. Don't know who they are, but I wish them well. We're hunkered down inland, even had time to mow the yard...(I don't think we'll get a chance to do it again before the grass is knee-high the way water stands here). Got a generator for essentials, but if we're off for a while, party on!

while loading a few things to bring with me to my nieces house a couple miles away, I pulled my gun out of the case to show my neighbor. at that same moment a deputy was cruisng by. suddenly I have cop cars pulling up, 3 cops yelling at me to put the weapon down with shaking hands on their pistols. the first one grabs my gun and puts on a show clearing it for the other 2 rookies. starts asking me if the gun was modified because he had never seen a 9mm AR15 and what were those 30 shot clips for because they certainly wouldn't fit this gun. had to explain to him it was a LEO gun and I had bought it from a cop a while back. so they checked numbers and IDs, *****ed me out for brandishing a weapon in public during a state of emergency. well, I had just pulled it out the case on the hood of my truck, in my driveway, all but 2 neighbors had evacuated and the street was deserted except for 3 deputies. didn't want to piss him off, but after reading his name tag it was very hard to not smile or laugh. I apologized and politely explained to OFFICER GAY after he gave my gun back I wasn't thinking when I took the gun out and it would not happen again. so OFFICER GAY and his boys drove off without my gun and without me wearing shiny bracelets and getting a free ride to town.

John, that reminds me of a time I got a ticket for 123 in a 55 (coming around the side of Monte Sano mountain on the split 4-lane above Huntsville, AL at 3AM). The officer's nametag was "A. Wright". He saw me looking at it and asked "So, kid...you want to guess what the A stands for"?...I'll save you the time - it stands for "Always". After he grinned and chuckled, he wanted to look over my car before he told me I should just go to traffic school. He cut me some slack that night. I was in a v8 Vega conversion. Great in a straight line only, even with IECO suspension.

Mule, I believe your boy Bob was just a little off on his prediction. unless it takes a hard left, don't think it's going to make it to Texas. if he changes his guess in the next hour or two, he can right again this time.

I hope you're all stocked up on the important supplies. By this, I of course mean beer. Good luck guys, keep us updated and the Porsches dry.
