Hey, I'm better than you...look at my post count

I almost never post in the O/T area...but I just need to vent. I was just checking in on two threads I had posted in yesterday and was reading some of the replies when I came across this one :

"Interesting comments...

Especially from some of the guys with low posts.. which tells me you may be new to Porsche or to buying used Porsche parts."

How is a post count any type of measurement on how knowledgeable you are about Porsches or buying Porsche parts. Makes no sense. I hate crap like that. It's like saying "oh look at me...I'm smarter than you.....just look at my post count".
I have been on this site almost everyday for years. Even if for just a few minutes. I have been a registered member for just over 2 years and for the most part....I don't feel the need to post that much. I enjoy just reading what other people have posted. Most questions I think of have been asked before and can be found w/ a search....and quite frankly...I hate typing. As a result, I have a little over 200 posts. When I read the above it just rubbed me the wrong way and I thought..."geez... If I was on say, 330 days a year and posted a couple times a day, which I could have easily done, I'd have as many posts as this guy". Would that make me any smarter concerning Porsches? What makes him think that a post count is a ruler for someones Porsche knowledge? Incredibly shallow.
There were several things about those 2 threads that irritated me. That was the first issue. As stated above, I not a big fan of typing and don't feel the need to post much. So.....I'm done.

Yeah, that's the attitude among post whores (and RGruppe "Secret Society" tards). They think those of us with "low" post counts have no other outside/real world experience. They are present on every forum.

Terry, you need to share some of your art here, that will shut them up. Fact is some people lurk, but the ones to watch out for are the newbies with real high post counts.

Terry most of the people that do this have a small penis!

Don’t give up, just belly up to the bar and dish it back out.
PP is no diff than any other P forum out there, post count, like you said, doesn’t mean $hit

Hey Byron! Glad you and Danny Ocean saw this.

As requested...and hey, it's my off topic post, right? so....

Byron, i'm sure you've seen that one before. It's the one I did for Bob Snodgrass at Brumos. I believe it was given to Dan Davis/ Brumos by Bob.

Here is a Jag xk120 I did for a collector here in Jax. (PV actually)

Here is another Brumos car. 550 RSK. Not sure if they still own that one. I think Bob said that car wasn't one of their favorites. I could be wrong...just look at my post count!

Hey....I do feel better now.

Low post count (LPC?) is typically only as meaningful as one believes it is, IMO.

I wouldn't worry too much about someone making an issue of it, unless you make an issue of it.

I like the Birdcage (that is a Maserati Birdcage, yes? ).

Very nice work!

As I said in another thread . . . I would hate to be the Porsche Master Mechanic with 50+ years of experience under his belt who's just had his first internet connection installed.

The vast majority of my posts have been in OT. That doesn't give me technical knowledge.

In the 944 forums we have guys like Nick (Many944s), Speedy (speedracing944), George (944Ecology), and John (TNT25169) who have years of experience far superior to my own. I usually try to point newer guys to them for good answers.

OTOH, a guy with a handful of posts who makes the famous "What oil is best?" query might deserve some "thoughtful ribbing".

Hey, now, Danny, those wind thingamawhatsies have been SCIENTIFICALLY-LIKE PROVEN to increase gas mileage. They work by reducing the weight of the vehicle, especially around the pocket usually reserved for your cash.

And it's against the law in some states to own those and a cool collar without wearing a tinfoil hat.

My account on Wayne's server got corrupted a while back and when he fixed it my post count went waaaay up. I requested it be knocked back down but it hasn't been. I actually only have about, maybee 1800 posts.

Some are early ones on the air cooled board where I asked a lot of questions and learned a lot.

Probably 95% are here on OT and are agravating and useless because I'm a pain in the ass.

How much of the post count is guys posting "sub'd" in the thread because they are too damn retarded to use the "subscribe to thread" selection under "thread tools" at the top.

Pisses me off.
