Quantum of Solace - How Good Will This Be?

Daniel Craig plays 007 again. Looks pretty edgy but there are a few shots of him punishing a fw cars as well as some bad guys. The women look hot as always. Will this be any good? I bet yes.

Yes, I believe that they have found the formula. He IS James Bond. Let's hope the script etc is as good as it can be.

I am very jealous of my counterparts at Sony who get to work on 007 movies. They make them under license for MGM. I work on plenty of cool movies, but Bond, well....that would be too cool. I mean Pirates are cool, but Bond to me it's a non sequitur.

I dunno, but the last film rocked HARD.

If this one is as good as the last, the Bond series is back on track after a long period in the desert.....

All I know is that I can't wait for it to hit theaters.

Craig's Bond is much much much better than Brosnan's.

Little trivia... no more "Bond, James Bond" in the movie... and no Martini...

They better do a good job getting Bond back to basics. The last one (the one with Halle Berry and the invisible car) was just friggin' ridiculous. Completely out-of-touch with the essence of James Bond, IMHO - even though it was a fun movie, it was insufferable as a Bond movie.

Jeff,

There's been one since then...

The first DC one...raw and cruel... stripped of the gadgets and one liners pretty much...007 gets the girl and he might screw her but she screws him over...a bitter man indeed.

It will be interesting to see how they develop..

I liked how they dismissed the martini line.

Quantum of Solace is a short story about a guy in Jamaica who dumps his wife.

I watched it, thought it was good since it set the stage for the next film. But 'The Bond Identity' would have been a better title than 'Quantum of Solace' in my opinion.

The action was a little bit over the top for a Bond movie, but I still thoroughly enjoyed it. However, the story got a bit complicated at times.

Caught it last night. Excellent follow up to Casino Royale. Don't believe the negative "it isn't a Bond movie" critics...they completely missed the point of the movies.

Saw it last night and, like the last one, I'm going to have to see it again to fully appreciate it.

Really amazing stunts. And his preoccupation with Vesper is a new Bond character development. Doesn't stop him from porking a british agent who showed up in boots and a raincoat named, "Fields". I kept waiting for her to say her whole name like, "Rolling Fields" or some-such great Bondgirl euphemism. Remember this one?:

Bondgirl: "Hi. I'm Plenty" (she's stuffed into a bikini)
Bond: "Why, yes you are"
BG: "Plenty O'Toole"
Bond: "And named after your father."

Brilliant and even more hilarious that the US censors let all that stuff get through..Jack

Steve and I went and saw it yesterday. Greatly enjoyed it. I didn't think it was as engaging as Casino Royale. But then again, Casino Royale is absolutely my favorite Bond movie period.

Some improvements were needed in the actual screen writing. The hotel in the desert used a hydrogen based power system. They didn't really go into detail as to why it has such an interesting system nor the downfalls of it. Just all of a sudden, hydrogen stuff starts doing the Hindenberg. A little detail in that area would have let the viewers understand the pitfalls of a hydrogen based system. Someone in the theater actually asked out loud - why does it keep blowing up? Umm...okay...perhaps not everyone is familiar with the highly flammable nature of hydrogen.

They also did not release the water in the under ground dam to return drinking water for the villagers. Would have been a nice touch. Besides, blowing stuff up is fun!

As far as Daniel Craig goes - he and Sean Connery are the James Bonds for me. Connery was sexy, elegant and articulate. Craig, sexy, nearly wolf-like in his ferocity (this guy chasing you - be afraid - very afraid!) and with incredible athleticism. The athleticism is a point sorely missed by most actors who have played Bond. Other than Craig, most of them don't look physically able enough to be successful at co-ed softball.

angela (sexist pig).

i don't like the Casino Royal Bond
it ain't what Fleming had in mind, Fleming was a dandy playboy, who wrote Bond based on his own self.. Daniel Craig is none of that

Connery,Moore and Lazenby for me.. none of the others were any good at being Bond

for crying out loud... he no longer smokes, his drink and car brand changes per advertisement deal they make, and in Solace, he apparantly did no pork Olga Kurylenko...

common !!?? What's in store for the next movie, is he coming out of the closet or what else?
