Mouse In Xmas Tree

Small mouse in XMas tree, hiding around the trunk about 3/4 way up.

Cats patrolling around tree, miauing. Concerned they destroy tree/ornaments trying to get mouse.

Kids trying to get mouse into a jar w/ cheese, squealing. Concerned they destroy tree/ornaments trying to get mouse.

Tree fully loaded, no question of taking outside and shaking.

Suggestions?

My thought was to ignore, mouse either gets eaten by cats or survives until tree is put outside after holidays.

go get some of those sticky mouse pad traps, and strategically place them at the trunk at different heights, throw some bait in the middle of them, when the mouse gets stuck you'll know it cause the cats will hear it "scream" and scuffle trying to get unstuck.....

Grab the mouse. Put gloves on first. If it gets loose in your house and the cats don't get it, life could be bad...

nothing in the world like the sound of a trap ( baited with peanut butter) snapping...
set it , go to bed, get up, throw it in the trash and be done with it!

Would a carbon dioxide fire extinguisher aimed right at him be cold enough to turn him into a little furry ice cube in a couple of seconds?

Another approach would be to move the stereo speakers over near the tree and crank it to eleven with "Stranglehold" by The Nuge on repeat.

My vote is let the mouse enjoy Christmas too. Grab him carefully and let him go outside.

I wouldn't use a glue trap with a cat in the house.

Sometime you have to destroy the village in order to save it.
