If it's the optical sensor, can you just tape the reflector to the face of the eye and call it a day?

Guys depending on the type of sensor you have, Chamberlain door brackets are really well made and just clip on to your track or can be nailed to the door frame, here is a link.

Mount them facing each other about 1" apart. They're a worthless feature anyway, all modern doors have an auto-reverse feature.

Garage
I just installed them in the attic out of the way. I have a key pad outside that I use alot when working in the garage or outside it. The sensors were just a hassle when trying to close the door and then walk thru it.

Some auto-reversing doors can still press with enough to possibly do damage to fragile things, like the neck of a toddler??

I have the liftmaster doors like the ones in the link, with the same type sensors. I have never had any type of problem with them. I have banged things into them, more times than I can remember, but they have always functioned correctly. I have hit them with hand truck wheels, riding mowers, etc. no problems. I guess I happened to get one of the better designed type sensors and mounts. Tony.
