I'm in for the club events. My son (12) and I enjoy the rallys--especially seeing all of the cars and meeting other owners. Our region, Potomac, also has some good social and outdoor events--Porsche sponsorship of the Gold Cup horse races is a real plus. These are the things that I'm able to get my wife to come to and enjoy.

No choice but to renew, I do 6-10 races and 10-15 DE's (wife too) per year. Great group of people in the Connecticut Valley Region..

I'm in, but I am on the track committee so... Plus we have a great group of folks. There may be some wine & cheese folks, but they don't hang around the track or auto-x so about the only time I see them is at the meetings (not wine and cheese).

Was a member from 1973-2002...North Florida Region club officer, concours chairman and newsletter editor back in the '70's But nowadays I'm not into DE's, AX's or "wine and cheese" socials. Plus, I have zero interest in the newer Porsches (even after owning a couple of them).
And as others have mentioned, Panorama is a mere shadow of its former self.

Nope. Joined for the Concourse events, but the number of cars seems to be dwindling over the past few years. Panorama I found interesting about every 3rd or 4th issue, the rest I just found boring. I did not renew my script to Excellence either. I found it to be "warmed-over" from month to month. There are better automotive magazines out there, and I find 100x more value here on this board - Thank You!
Now, I just drive my SC with a big grin on my face.

I enjoy my membership. Our local region has many fun events. I have made many good friends from the club. Our region has an autocross every month all year long. I can't ever imagine not being a part of PCA.

Not me. The region (Hudson Valley) officers are, in my opinion, a bunch of self-involved jerks. I might have re-upped anyway, but with the privatization of Lime Rock, the closest DE tracks are four-hours-away Watkins Glen, and Pocono. The latter is slightly closer but way more boring. The round trip to the Glen used to cost me one speeding ticket per.

Been a member for a number of years. I like the classifieds in Pano and PCA.org I have found some very nice stuff both places, the latest was my '71S coupe.
![]() Our region is pretty small but fairly active. I enjoy showing up every once in awhile with my old cars and listen to the reactions from the older members who now have new cars.

I guess it depends on what region. Suncoast PCA is great. I've only been a member since Dec 08 and have already been to 2 events where 100+ cars attended. Both events were catered so I've already gotten my $ worth from free lunches
Plus there are some great people to meet. I'm also volunteering for the 48hrs of Seabring and should be able to do a parade lap before the race starts. I'm very happy with PCA so far.

!st of all I am a Porsche addict !!!I am due to re new, but I am reluctant, almost all the social events are on saturdays, we work 6 days a week, I think the Suncoast region is mostly into DE's and the newer cars, and I feel its very clickis. I love my car , have no one in the club to share my euphoria with !! Hemmings sports & exotics a super magazine. Exellence is ok also. When I see people clean their car with q tips at the shows/meetings, its a bit too much.!!!........I don't know , Iam bit disapointed.

I love reading Excellence Mag, but I am not in the PCA.
I really dont know any Porsche owners that well other than an old customer of mine(I was a MATCO Tools distributor) that owns Autometrics in Charleston, SC. He doesnt even know that I own one. I guess I'm just a loner owner here in the Low country of SC. I love meeting new people, I guess its time I joined. |

Debating whether or not to renew. Local chapter mag is good - lots of handy vendor ads. Haven't attended any events, due to work schedule. I'm not that hot about DEs or AX, either. PCA website wasn't near as informative as this site is. Panorama's underwhelming as well. I guess a lot depends on what your expectations are for what the dues will set you back.

Ummmmm .... Thanks for clearing that up? I was making a point. I like learning more about the Porsche and its origins. Maybe the PCA would be a good resource. There was also other references about Excellence and other magazines like Hemmings Sports and Exotic Car and Panorama, which are other mags I like to read. |
