Sick of this sh*%#

Arrrrrrrrrrhhhhhhg...

So tonight I didn't have a lot going on... mainly just did a little cooking and enjoyed myself by listening to music. I live with some other friends in a large house we rent. They were all in some party mood tonight. Now as most of you know I am a pretty big drinker.. it's a pasttime and a hobby if you may look at it that way. But I am always very passive in my drinking ways.. I like to sit down at the computer and listen to some blues or other music while enjoying a sixxer... or some wine... or some nice mixed drinks while peacefully keeping to myself.

Well I do just that while my friend I live with and another friend continue to get drunk, leave the house and walk god knows where... and proceed to come back an hour later absolutely hammered. Now I'm upstairs at this point and not really feeling like even seeing them. They are downstairs making all sorts of noise, yelling at whatever and slamming doors as they run in and out, cooking something on the grill outside I think at one point...

Two hours later (a few minutes ago) I go downstairs to see WTF is up. They are both passed out on couches in the living room with the TV blaring random programming. The living room is a wreck with some kitchen chairs drug in and knocked over (MY kitchen chairs) and couch cushions all over. I go into the kitchen to find a half bag of ice split on the floor and dirty dishes everywhere (more on this later). Yesterday I had went and picked up some groceries for myself and in this was included a bottle of rum and some assorted mixers. This was for me, and they knew this... yet proceeded to drink almost 2/3rds of the bottle. On top of that, I found one of my nice lowball glasses with a big crack in it laying on the counter next to a batch of margaritas all over the blender.

Now this is pretty extreme but it's not exactly an isolated incident. I have lived with my one friend for a while now and I have truly never seen someone as irresponsible as he has been when it comes to basic living 101. I now believe I really am better just living by myself. The guy never cleans up after himself, leaves his **** laying all around the common areas of our house, and doesn't give a ****. I stopped cleaning a few weeks ago to see if he would take on the responsibility to do some work and he didn't. My house is in shambles. It really pisses me off because we entertain people a lot, and a lot of new friends have came by lately and it's really embarrassing when people come by and my housemate's socks are laying on the living room floor or his dirty dishes are sitting on the stove after a week still...

I have tried to tell this guy to shape the F up before, and even my friend who doesn't even live here told him how indecent it was of him to be the way he is around our house and he just laughs it off every time.

I think tomorrow morning I'm going to go ape sh**. I really love this house and do not want to have to find a new apartment anywheres at this point. I however have had my eye on a house for sale in the area that belongs to an old friend who moved away on business a year ago. It still hasn't sold and would be a steal in this market.

Sorry for ranting. I'm decidedly pissed right now. I wish I would have stayed with the 'x-wife' (girlfriend) and kept our own place.

I'm still up and just realized, even halfway into what's left of my bottle of rum, how childish a lot of this is. I had hoped a group of people in their mid 20's could live together better than this.

Here is a suggestion: call his mommy. Guys like that act that way because they were always used to have their mother take care of everything for them. So have his mother come and clean, or let the mother know how his pig son behaves, and she may have a little talk with him.

I've not met his folks more than a hello once.

I don't know what kind of people they are but I do know that once when I was gone his mother was down and saw the kind of mess his sh&$ was in. I think he's a little past the age of his mother having any effect on what he does.

"Animal house" is for college ...it's time to go your own way.

ps: If you don't, you must accept the fact that your roommates are NOT going to change imo.

Dude,

I haven't had a room-mate, or at least one I wasn't sleeping with, since I was 20. Get your own place, man. It is either that, or go find a place where the other guys are more compatible. College is over. You're not living in Delta house.

Man, this thread brings back bad memories. My 2 best friends and I used to live together until they started bringing their motocross bikes into the living room . . . .

There wasn't enough weed and booze in Boise to help me through that crap, and I was the bad guy because I complained . . .

Hmmmm. You're really pissed at them and they are passed out on the floor. You could do some serious damage with a permanent marker and some duct tape or maybe an electric shaver. I'd say you are in an extreme position of power. Just a thought.

Jeez, sounds like an all nighter with Schumi posting at 6AM his time. I had roommates for a very short time. I was living with a girl by age 20. They're not much better.

Yeah, but there are benfits. And if you pick a nice import model, they will do the cleaning, happily!

Urban Myth.

Got the import model, but she doesn't clean. Maybe I should have gotten the Polish Import model instead.

Roommates suck. +1 to moving out and getting your own place. Then you can have douchebag neighbors that will do the same thing, but at least they won't be under the same roof.
