Pelicanhead sef-help: Referral database

I didn't find anything like this in a search, so here goes:

Many of us are 'consulting,' which is sometimes a euphemism for 'unemployed.'

If you have a skill that other Pelicanheads might be able to use or refer, please put it in this thread and we'll see if we can help each other out.

Naturally, I'll start.

I do marketing plans and business plans. I do plans for product launches, relaunches, generating investment money, etc. Recently, the emphasis has been on Internet marketing. History of major successes. Available for project work.

Next?

Just won some work in China Lake, Ca working Joint Counter IED testing.

Very exciting work. We will need comm engineers, data-base managers and electrical engineers.

Work should start in 60 days...it will be hot, sweaty and very rewarding.

PM if you know anyone that may be interested. You can also contact me at pmorgan@unmannedsystemseng.com. We would prefer to start with mid-grade to junior guys and grow them. They'll need to know how to work hard, they won't be behind a desk very much.

Let's talk next week. I owe EODONE a proposal for the Pt. Loma facility and we're doing other JIEDDO funded stuff right now.

At least SAIC isn't your prime

38 years in home improvement and commercial tenant improvements. Many historic properties involved which became a specialty. No one really survives totally from historic work, the money is never long. However, a systematical approach to older structures can eliminate a lot of waste and expense. And, make the preservationists happy.

One thing for sure, the owners and the historic preservationists are always on opposite banks of the river. I've threaded that needle more than once.

Also, most trades people don't have the knowledge to do historic work even if they are accomplished at their craft. It takes a different approach.

Lecture over.

I'm retired but would love to 'consult.'

I'm a Certified QuickBooks ProAdvisor. I do contract bookkeeping and QuickBooks set-up and training. Though all of my clients are local, I usually dial in to their servers and work from home... realistically they could be anywhere. My rates are way lower than the typical CPA's office staff and even at the lower end charged by most ProAdvisors.

I wish we had cool projects like this near Wichita. I'm very tired of sitting on my ass at a desk.

I used to fly into IYK every morning and back every afternoon in a PA-32 Lance back in my early cargo rat days. Afternoons into IYK were pure white-knuckle a lot of days - wind SCREAMING across the desert (plenty of 30+ knot crosswind component days), turbulence, etc. Fun days... And it'd get hotter than hades too. Nothing like wrestling the airplane all the way down to the ground in triple-digit heat only to land and have it be 115+ on the tarmac (yes, really).

I miss those days though. Sick and masochistic I know, but I do miss them in a weird way.

Self employed construction engineer, RE developer and real estate agent.
I've worked on jobs from zip to $100Million, mostly in management positions.
I've been president of about 10 organizations, most of which I owned too.

I'm not retired, just tired
Always happy to help out a fellow Pelican; anytime, anyway that I can.

When I read about your job I sometimes wish I had majored in construction management. How does an aerospace engineering degree with a business management minor, 5 years of construction experience and 1 year of aerospace project management experience cross over to your industry?
