They're not crazy expensive if they do, either. Just don't buy them from the dealer.

Jim, that's uber-sweet. Signed, Ford-lover.

Also, FWIW, I greatly prefer the old (2008) style to the new re-style. Ford is the only company that really knows how to do retro, IMO. The T-bird, the Mustang and the GT-40 re-issues are all brilliant. The Challenger and Camaro are not bad, (exteriors), but Ford did it better. They've now changed the Mustang so that it's not such a good retro job.

Denis...this is something we can agree with. Glad that sneek peeks of the 2010 Mustangs are out there. Glad I was able to find the '09. Dealer told me it was hard to find one. 3 were already gone before he got this one, out of Eastern Washington State...

Great News, Paul!

I voted for used - being the cheap Scot what I yam...

Agree - I had them on my leased Boxster S - could zip over to the coast at night in 1 hr flat -- and it is a ways over curvy roads.

well done

paul, I agree with the others that you have selected well from the range of currently available Mustangs....the Bullit edition is a fine choice. Getting one off the showroom floor with a discount speaks well about your negotiation skills.

I have an idea for your plate. BLLLLIT. That or SIXBALL. Yes, Paul it is me. Shawn. SmileWavy

Yes...very, very cool Jim

custom plates

As you know, my custom plate selections are not for the normal consumer. The plate on my car is for the PCA only. I care little for them as some may know. Shawn.

"hey it was raining that morning in Durango Colorado. Early 911E event that was the most spectacular event that I have driven."

I thought, briefly, about a vanity plate...but then, our legislature is rasing the license fees as I type this. Why give the state a dime more than they already rip from my hide without my consent? Also, Vanity plates are easier for a cop to read...unless it's something like a series of 1 and i....and they don't allow those.

But then, maybe SLUG?

pwd72s 05-29-2009 01:40 PM

Jim...are you going to go hunting for new Camaros in this one? ;) I think very sweet. Love the way you steered clear of stripes, spoilers, flares...very well done indeed! The thought involved shows.

Jim Bremner 05-29-2009 02:57 PM

hanks guys!

I sold it in '06 It started owning me, I didn't own it. here's a vid of the new owner driving it http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v6Fem5rbLNk

I sold it for a fair price. Plus I still get congical visits with it.

I had plans on a 911 hotrod or a 930.

My wife has MS and needs a wheel chair if she needs to walk more than 300 yards. So I ended up with a C6 Corvette (you can put a full size wheelchair in the hatch.

I'm sure that I'll build a 911 r grouppe car some day

pwd72s 05-29-2009 03:38 PM

Cool...I do believe I saw it pass. FWIW, we have something in common...Cindy has MS too. :( It changes your life, but sure doesn't end it! Best wishes for both of you.

Jim Bremner 05-29-2009 07:16 PM

How's Cindy doing?

Joanna is 44 years old and has lived with MS for 10 years now. Her left foot is a little flopy, and stamina is a issue.

Oh as for the BULLIT Mustang I do like it alot! I bought the ch'vette due to not needing a backseat and 600 extra pounds!

Cindy was diagnosed in '77...remarkably & luckily, things seem pretty stable right now. Hasn't needed to use her scooter in years. Of course, there is the fatigue factor, the numbness, the left side problems. Sounds like you & your wife know the routine. We don't make any long range plans with people, because you never know when you might wake up to a "bad" day. But overall, we're very lucky...Cindy seems to have a mildly progressive form...

Backseat was wanted here...for those rare times we want to carry more than the two of us. In a pinch, for short trips, the Mustang back seat can be used.

Tomorrow I get the car. At least, that was what I was told. Then to make that first (and only) killer payment. ;)

National Motorist Ass posted info on plates that red light & speed cameras can't read due to processing errors.

speeder 05-29-2009 11:25 PM

I've ridden in the back seat of my friend's '08 Bullit 'stang and it was fine for around town. Mind you it's no limo but not ridiculous like the back seat of a 911 either.

Jim Bremner 05-30-2009 09:15 AM

Pwd72,

well please post photo's of the stang! when you get it! That, and HAZE the tires in front of one of your neighbors houseSmileWavy

I'm glad to hear that Cindy is doing well. Joanna's on the same path. MS took her Uncle at 35.

The dash on the new cars is kinda a complement to the old cars. For while I had a busty girlfriend, she looked at the dash and said that it looked like a pair of boobs loooking back at herhttp://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1243703618.jpg

When you hit spell check, Stank comes up for stang, for what it's worth.

pwd72s 05-30-2009 10:02 AM

Jim, Did Joanna live close to the 45th parallel in her youth? Strangely, many MS victims come from this part of the globe. Glad to hear Joanna seems to be in the "mildly progressive" category. Sounds as if you've entered the "we're lucky" stage as well. So many in Cindy's support group are worse off...:(

HOOT! Never thought of the gauge thing. No chrome surrounds on the "bullitt" gauge package...a dull brushed aluminum finish instead. I can't really recall if the "nipples" are there or not. Saturday morn, no call from the dealer yet...
