Just a few hours ago, I pulled up next to a Hell's Angel at a red light by my house. We gave each other the nod. I feel like I have street cred now.

What one has to understand a 1% is a out and out hood, thief, womanizer, swindler and anything else you can say in a bad way.
There is no difference between them, the mafia or any other organized crime army. Now there are those who happen to ride a Harley and HAVE to wear a patch of some sort ( No originality or trying to cover up some deficit ) act badly at times (not usually) but have no asso with the 1 % people. The other thing is some of the 1% people will "seem" fine in the light of day...they have an whole other side

I work with a few Outlaws (Outlaws MC) that is. They're nice enough guys, but wouldn't want to piss one off. About fifteen years ago in Chicago there was a lot of consolidation going on, car bombs, assasinations and what not. All the smaller clubs became Outlaws or left town. Now the Hells Angles aren't allowed above 147th street. Chicago is Outlaw territory. It's all kinda ghey, but again I wouldn't want to piss one of these guys off.

Washington is Bandido country. Their former worldwide prez is currently cooling his heels up here in the pen; old Bandido George from up Bellingham way. We do have a "nomad" chapter of the HA, over in Spokane, and I am starting to see them regularly at biker gatherings in the Puget Sound area. Gypsy Jokers used to be big around here, but the Bandidos have pretty much beaten them back to a small chapter in Tacoma.
One does have to wonder just how "outlaw" a member can be when he works at, say, Boeing, for example. I see guys wearing their tee shirts out in the factory, and even in our office building at times. There are several that work here. This is a darn tough place for a felon to get a job. One also has to wonder just how far an individual with a job like those available here would be willing to push it, for a "brother" and all. To the point of giving up that high paying, gravy job over some penny ante assault charge? I doubt it. Maybe the wussification of the Bandidos has begun. Oh, and gtc - I just saw your post. Would that be a big blue "B"? Not sure who that would be, but Bandidos (and all of their support clubs, like Hombres and whoever else) are red and gold. With the Frito Bandido dude on their patch.

You guys need to go to Laughlin Nevada to the casino's during bike week. Couple of years ago believe it was the Sonny Bargers group against either the Bandits or Outlaws. Idiots did not stop to think that EVERYTHING in a casino is video taped and was later used in court against them.
I live just South of Cave Creek AZ, where Sonny lives. Lots of Harleys running up and back down the road. Sure wish that someone would enforce the "muffler" rule on their bikes.

That was the Mongols, Joe. A particularly unsavory bunch. They came to town looking for a fight with the HA, and found it. Started a pretty good shoot-em-up in a crowded casino, with no thought whatsoever about any innocent bystanders.
That incident serves as an example of just how dangerous some of these clubs can be. The smaller ones, the ones that feel they have something to prove, and want to make a name for themselves. The big clubs are well past that, and seek to avoid attention. It's hard to operate all of their criminal enterprises when numb nut members bring undue attention to the club, like by starting shootouts in casinos. The up-and-comers don't care about that. They need the rep before anyone in their world takes them seriously. They will do really stupid things towards that end.
