here is what you do...Buy her a nice WHITE Cotton sweater..you know the kind OLD Ladies like to wear.
Instead of a surprise party it might be a good idea to ask some close friends to go out ot a nice restruant for a nice dinner...10 or 12 good friends might do nicely... A nice piece of jewerly might be a nice present....it could be out of cracker jack box and she would love it coming from some one who she loves....but back to the sweater idea...

I let my wife buy a dress for a friends wedding..(one of her B-days)
day of the wedding..she went swimming with Belugas instead.. couldn't get a bear or cougar/lion cub from the zoo.. she still smiles when telling the tale.. H20 knows ...his Lady when telling this to her GF.. she hears my husband would never do/think off something that neat.. get cracking. Rika |

American Express Last Minute Deals - trips to anywhere - have you both call in sick a day or two next week.....
Spa or romantic weekend away (mountains, seashore).... Surprise party works well, but you have to be pretty sure she wants one..... A nice ring or other jewelry is nice, and a good way to make her think "this is the present" before the surprise party/trip/dinner, etc. - a double surprise that is memorable. Something intensely personal - my wife was a huge Genesis (Peter Gabriel era) fan, so one year I found a really good tribute band 600 miles away in Toronto - planned a long, romantic weekend around an $18 concert ticket.....she loved it....Crazy idea of that kind is priceless, intense and unique..... |

Life story is a great plan.
Better would be to go out somewhere and have someone else narrate it, while you act surprised as the story of some mystery woman is unfolding, and how uncannily like your wifes story it is at the start. At the end when the thespian is being presented with the ridiculously large bouquet of flowers, he accepts the flowers and brings them down for your wife. Of course the gig will be up before the end of the story, but the flowers are a cool closing of the story of success in your eyes.
