Try the Sardine Factory in Monterey, or, up in SF, Farallon. Both are great.

Scoma's is my FAVORITE seafood restaurant in this state, if not anywhere. Try it out when you're in SF.

Scoma's is definitely an institution, but for me is too touristy and overpriced. Funny thing, it is my Dad's favorite place. So we end up there once or twice a year. Their oysters are great, second only to the Hog Island Oyster Company in the Ferry Plaza Bldg.

In addition to the Michelin Guide, the SF Top 100 list is a good source for great restaurants.

SF is probably the best Restaurant town in the country. Great use of local products, innovative cuisine, lots of small, Chef-owned restaurants.

I just started renting a 1 bedroom cottage, about 450 square feet, in a nice quiet neighborhood. How much? $1000 per month, and I searched for a while to find a deal like that. This has to be in the top 10 most expensive places in America to live.

I was about to type "small price to pay for living in such a beautiful place", except it's not really a small price. Heh.

Monterey is pretty sweet, great climate.

Scomas is pretty damn good, some killer Italian in North Beach, lot a of great places to eat. I always liked Pacific Cafe, whatever that place out on Geary was, good food for reasonable.

Go check out the aquarium. When you get your car go to Yosemite, in addition to going up and down the coast.

I think driving the coast with my top off is going to be one of the high points of my life.
