Sorry for your mum Richard. :(

Hmm, I was wondering where the furkid had disappeared to while we were watching some tv.

Jeff, it looks like your sleeping on the couch tonight! :D

Think I did really well at keeping my BoxsterS from looking like a girly car...

One thing for sure Richard, no one ever looked at you and thought you might be gay. ;)

You and I are not exactly a "metro-sexual" type.

I guess Sid is safe as well ;) Even if he does get a Boxster.

We'd all love a Cayman... But considering a Boxster is 1/3rd the price at the moment, I believe I'll go for that...

Oh and its pretty hard to question the manhood of anyone flying around a track in anger on a set of race slicks... Which is what I want a boxster for... ;)

My co-worker Miata driver says his Miata is a chick magnet. They all want the drive it! ;)

One of the many reasons I keep my old 911 is it is not depreciating at all. I hope soon it will start to go up a lot like the early 911s. The water pumper Porsches all drop in value and I just don't think they will be collector items except the GT3s and the like that are not the standard production cars.

I seem to have an aversion to depreciation.

My wife would love for me to sell my 911 and buy a 2012 Carmen S. If I could find a smoking deal on one I could talk her into swapping her fancy Datsun for one.

Wow New Egg is fast. My pile 'O parts just arrived. :) I placed the order Thursday afternoon. I had it shipped at the no charge rate, ground.

Now I just have that step of "some assembly required"

A new toy cool!

porsche4life 07-29-2013 09:32 AM

See... If I have fun in a car, I don't give a crap about depreciation... ;)

GH85Carrera 07-29-2013 09:42 AM

But it is even sweeter to have fun and not have depreciation. The biggest reason I have my 911 is the autocross. I could sell the 911 and go get a track whore Miata for just a few grand and save even more. That ain't ever gonna happen. It is not just about the money.

It sure is not about being the fastest. Been there done that, I have trophies to prove it. That is expensive and hard work. I go just to have fun. To beat Chad in his 993 on occasion is neat, but I really do no care who is faster. They are not having more fun and all the top fast guys are spending a LOT more money than I do.

I suspect you will love a Boxster. If I had a 4 car garage I might go buy a Boxster as another toy.

Stijn!!

Glad I followed all of your advice. My sister moved in with mom and has been living there the last month or so. She is now asking me for money to pay for her storage unit. ????? How could you have paid for a townhouse if you can't pay for your storage unit? So happy that I didn't co-sign. I don't get it. She supposedly has a good paying job. I don't know where all her money is going. She definitely doesn't have a drinking, gambling, drug problem. She has always had money problems. Maybe it is all the high interest rates she has had to pay catching up with her? I have no idea. She is 36 and has a daughter. I wish she would get her act together so the rest of us don't have to deal with her problems as well as ours. She is running out of people to run to in our family because we are getting tired of her antics.

What to do? On one side, I say grow up and get your act together. The other side of me says be the caring sister and help her. :(

Your job is to do exactly what you are doing. Support her emotionally and be supportive, not support her bad decision making by supporting her financially.

Jferr006 07-29-2013 10:37 AM

supppporrrrt , because I didn't say that enough. :)

Jim Richards 07-29-2013 10:43 AM

Is support today's word of the day?

livi 07-29-2013 10:51 AM

I support that.

Jferr006 07-29-2013 10:57 AM

Does that include bra talk?

GH85Carrera 07-29-2013 11:08 AM

Tweeze, people with constant money problems are just like drunks. It is just a spending problem not a drinking problem. Until the broke person cuts up every credit card they have and stops spending money on anything that is not essential, they will remain broke. Been there done that. I learned the hard way.

I went for 8 years with no vacations at all. I worked an extra job, I simply did not buy clothes or shoes unless the old ones were worn out.
