What about those 3 brass looking bolts?

azzarule 02-23-2014 06:27 AM

they are the pressure points sensors for the horn

azzarule 02-23-2014 06:28 AM

not touching them

azzarule 02-23-2014 06:31 AM

oh well that's my little job for today gone, time to go for a drive and help Seahawk with something.

Cheers

You sure you've got the right size socket for the nut Azzy?

fintstone 02-23-2014 08:14 AM

I think you need a short 27mm socket with an extension...that looks like a 29.

I think you're on to something. A nice short well might clear that lip nicely. Worst case, throw your deep well in a vise and break out the angle grinder to shorten it up.

Well I am now down to only one 911. The Targa went back to dad today, I needed the driveway space. Don't worry Paul I am still leaning on him to sell it

azzarule 02-23-2014 10:52 AM

It was a nice ride, very soft suspension compared to Marilyn, the difference in the cornering on a couple of the twisties on Paul's road were really noticeable. But the luxury of the Merc was lovely, immaculate interior condition, and the hard top + soft top options were great, what a concept. Best of both worlds.

Thanks for the drive Paul. Now the weather is fantastic when I finish the ironing I am putting the top down and taking Marilyn for a bit of a drive. The boys have gone for a bike ride, such a lovely day.

Those old MB's are a true Lux-o-cruise

Always a pleasure, Charmaine. Bec and I took an hour drive, just got home. What a fine day. Thanks to you and Steve working through the minutia of the "top"...I wanted witnesses:D

Indeed. The torque curve is excellent, it actually plants fairly well in a curve, you just don't want too much, uh, curve.

Tell your Dad I am ready when he is...no pressure, just making sure he knows a foster home awaits.

Just before Azza bolts:

:)

azzarule 02-23-2014 01:20 PM

Okay I see where I went wrong now, I let Steve buy the socket!!

It is a 29, you know I didn't even look at the size, I just gave him the instruction sheet a couple of weeks ago and let him go shopping.

Will get another one tomorrow, my socket set doesn't go that big.

Good pick up gents.

Just went back to look at the photo, and then out to the garage to check the socket, sigh.

azzarule 02-23-2014 01:21 PM

but even so it is going to be a tight squeeze.

nynor 02-23-2014 04:07 PM

well, still leaking coolant. i guess i didn't use enough paper towels. turns out i was right the first time: the o-ring has failed on that warped plastic block off piece. the hose just happened to be loose, too. it's going to be an interesting week with only vehicle running. i think the part gets here on wednesday, so i may be taking off work on thursday to get this sorted.

RKDinOKC 02-23-2014 04:11 PM

Good Evening.

Almost done removing the sloppy trim paint job and I can start painting, woo hoo.

next bummer is the previous owners painted the top half of the walls white and the bottom half blue. The paint with primer in it won't cover so top and bottom halves match so going to have to primer, i.e., paint twice.

azzarule 02-23-2014 05:18 PM

and that's without having to actually smooth out the joining line

Rick V 02-24-2014 12:58 AM

Oh goodie, it's Mo*&^%

Rick V 02-24-2014 01:07 AM

Wow, it's interesting when you see the mods hand pick which posts in a thread they want to delete to make the thread go in a direction they like. I know this is a private forum but either close the entire thread or let it ride, no need to pluck it to bits. ( no I don't go into parf)
