Glen, if I left this morning on a flight from Dulles I would get there this afternoon early evening, but I would have jumped the international date line, so a long time, it would be about 24 hours total travel time with stopovers changing planes etc. but about 20 hours air time with the skips across the usa included.

Okay we had a new baby last night in the extended family. My daughter in law's brother and his wife had a baby girl. They named it Sidney. Yeah I gotta ask, Sid, you add Va to your states I have been to list?

The Texas part is the worst. The speed limit is 75 so that helps. I have done that drive three times.

It is amazing how big the planet is even in the 21st century. Imagine that voyage just 100 years ago.

When I drove from OKC to Austin recently happened to notice I arrived just 6 minutes of when my GPS listed at the very start. Stopped once to top up the gas tank, take a potty break, and refill my refreshments.

Morning (1:03am). Just getting in.....where's my fart sack?

If'n I members right, I left Sydney 'bout 1pm and arrived in LA 'bout 9am the same day. Flight time was something like 13hrs.

azzarule 11-22-2014 11:02 AM

yep, but then you have to get over to the other side of the USA, with a minimum of two hours delay on the flight change, but usually its more like 5 so you don't run into late arrival missed plane problems etc, and also if you can get a direct flight, not always possible. Usually stay in LSA for a few nights or Hawaii to skip across, breaks it up a bit.

sitting back watching the F1 practice and qualifying that is taped on the machine. There was an ad on the tape for golfnickers.com, lol so funny the colours of the golf clothes.

Yeah, I also remember it being an all day adventure to get from SF to Ronaldd Reagan - about 11hrs.

Hey Dave, my Google Chrome keeps going off and searching on Yahoo (which is crap by the way) insead of using google, if I type into the window, it just jumps to yahoo, my default browser is google, I have checked everything that I can find, checked the internet for the problem, have searched everywhere, run virus checks, trojan, all of that stuff, but it just keeps reverting back to yahoo. aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhh!

RKDinOKC 11-22-2014 06:09 PM

in my browser preferences I can select a default search engine. Think I have it set on booble.

Evening guys. Survived the trek across the Texas panhandle. Going to try to catch a few hours of shuteye in a truck stop parking lot in Endee nm before I soldier on!

Outback Porsche 11-22-2014 06:43 PM

Safe travels Sid ;)

RKDinOKC 11-22-2014 06:49 PM

Sidney, grab a packet of Jack Link BBQ Pork Jerky. Gnawing on some jerky does wonders if you get bored and the eye lids start getting heavy. There have been many a road trip where gnawing on jerky got me home because the sleepiness came from road boredom not lack of sleep.

nynor 11-22-2014 06:52 PM

it's been a while since i slept at a rest stop or truck stop.
