Get off my lawn!

Going along NW 39th (Route 66 to you non locals) it is 3 lanes wide in parts of the city. I was in the middle lane and a Honda whith a Huge fart can pulled up to on the right, pulled ahead, changed lanes and went to the far left lane, dropped back behind me and changed back to the right lane. He had circled me. He must have had a sticky throttle because he would shoot forward then slow down. I never acknowledged him in any way. He finally drove away.

So, right around Christmas time I posted either here or somewhere on PPOT. Regarding a good looking middle aged woman who wanted to play leap frog with me after my wife left a Christmas party we were attending at her parents house.
Just went to a sales call at the local Boys and Girls Club...the horny toad is my DM! LOL Small world ![]()

Once, a buddy and I swapped cars for a couple nights. He had my big block Coronet and some guy in a fox body Mustang with its stock 215hp 5.0 liter motor pulled alongside and would get on it and slow down multiple times on the 4 lane 35mph road. Finally my buddy gets tired of it and roasts the tires from on the roll for about 100' and backs off. The guy in the Mustang shook his head and puttered off.
We are supposed to be above freezing this weekend!

I just noticed, don't high performance rear tires and a clutch kit cost about the same these days?

The tires are still easier to replace.

Shame about the snow guys... Its sunny here after a few days of rain. I'm going to a PCA meeting tonight in the 944
![]() Got ballsy and drove the bug a whole mile away from home and the little bastard tried to strand me! Luckily it was near a place I like to eat so I ate dinner and let it have some time to think about what it had done. Came back and it still wouldn't start. I could tell it was getting fuel but it still wouldn't start. I was about ready to throw in the towel and walk home and the little **** started. Drove it home and it didn't want to idle at all on the drive home. Got home and killed it, waited about 20mins and tried again and it started right up and idled pretty decent. I verified the timing was right, adjusted the idle and killed it a few times and it was fine. Tried to leave again and as soon as I started letting the clutch out it sputtered and died and wouldn't restart. WTF? |

74° and sunny here! I might just take the Lotus out tonight!
The little quad is pretty slick, fantastic stabilization....you can just throw it up in the air and hit the throttle and it stabilizes off almost instantly. |

This new stuff made that year I spent learning to fly an RC heli obsolete.

Sid, there can't be many if any vehicles on the planet simpler than a bug. I drove my 60 model all over the place. Not much highway driving because 70 was flat out only with a tailwind. Any headwind slowed it to 60. Any hill slowed it more. A real hill Would mean third gear at 40 mph.
My brother drives his 54 bug as a daily driver. His VW van is is a 72 or 74 I don't remember which. I know you went high tech with replacing the points with electronic ignition. It has to be a simple problem. There are no complex problems possible with an old bug.

That slot of no snow continues. Just northwest and southwest a short distance is getting crap. We are not getting any of it and I am quite happy about it.

It sounds like the choke is doing something screwy intermittently

Lots of snow Porsche away

My dad tells a story about an MGA he had with a very similar problem. I think it was almost a year before his mechanic pulled the fuel tank and found the peanut that was floating around inside, occasionally getting sucked down onto the fuel pump inlet and stopping the flow. When the engine died, the suction stopped and the peanut floated back up to the top of the tank....

I've wondered about the fuel too. Its been in there about 10 months with stabilizer. Maybe top it off with premium and see if it behaves better?
