Just make sure insurance is paid up then drive the car into part of the house you want remodeled. Two birds, one stone and somebody else pays for it.

Oh Haha 07-19-2015 06:46 AM

Thanks guys. The response to the car has been overwhelming. Emails and pics are flying around like mad!

I hope to get another 911 at some point but it will be a newer one if any. I still have a couple of years until the kids will be old enough to not need daycare and I can find full time work. My FIL are discussing a business venture so that may play out before I have to work for someone else.

I'm no longer searching through online classifieds. Instead, it's flipping through Dwell/Sunset/Arch Digest/etc magazines and taking pics of random people's houses I pass by, instead. Sigh.

Blasphemy. Sell a kid or some furniture.
Toys rule!

Yup. We went and looked at tile and countertops on Friday.... Going to be a few months before we can afford either though. That craps not cheap!

Oh Haha 07-19-2015 08:42 AM

Well, sonofabi$%^. Looks like it's sold and going back to the mother country. A buyer gave us a deposit and is wiring the rest tomorrow.

My wife cried when I hung up the phone and told her. No, I didn't but have this weird, anxious feeling in my stomach.

That's why I want to add on a couple bedrooms, and hold off on the kitchen remodel for now. We've already got a kitchen that works, even if it's not to our exact tastes. But we've got more kids than bedrooms right now.

Of all my cars only one was a sad parting and that wasn't until I watched it drive off down the street for the last time. It was my 90 928 GT. I'm expecting my current 928 GTS to be a very similar experience when that day comes.

On the opposite end of the spectrum, was never so happy to see a car go as when I drove off and left the literal "pain in the butt" to drive VW Passat at the dealership when VW bought it back from me. Before they bought it back I was fantasizing abput ways to total the car and collect insurance.

porsche4life 07-19-2015 12:38 PM

Move to AZ and I can sell you a house with the appropriate number of bedrooms. Probably cut your mortgage payment way down too! ;)

Our house is more than big enough, just needs updating. It's approaching 15 years old and was built with all the builder grade stuff. So the carpet is shot, tile is ok but not great, counters and sink are shot, pool deck needs repaired and extended... You get the picture. Then I want to add a sub panel and get more electric run to the garage. One 15amp circuit is not enough by any stretch of the imagination.

Rick V 07-19-2015 01:28 PM

Evening Y'all,
15 amp for the garage? really? The stereo in my garage needs 15 amp. :D

Make sure this overseas jazz is 150% legit.

I really hope you didn't let it go for anything less than asking.:(

Ro-Roh, -4 this morning and the pipes on the roof have froze - no hot water :(

Morning all

I kept checking but ended up trimming some tree branches as well as cutting one up that fell during high winds today.

FYI-My SC is listed for sale in the Pelican classifieds now. Hard for me to do it but we need the money in the bank more than I need a toy. I am hoping that I can get another 911 in a few years. :(

I have toyed with the idea of letting Lanna go but I doubt I could do it. I regret ever selling my 635 and I know I would never get over selling the SC. I have wanted one since my dad worked as a Porsche parts manager way back when 45 years ago. I waited that long I guess I will just have to wait that long again to sell her

RKDinOKC 07-19-2015 02:36 PM

When offered $70K for my GTS didn't sell it because there is no other car for that much I would rather have. And would rather have the car than pay off my mortgage and do the remodeling on my list.

GH85Carrera 07-19-2015 02:43 PM

Phew. That was a HOT time in the big city. We had the autocross today and I headed for home at 12:45. It was 96 and humid. My sweat glands work great but I never doubted that.

Outback Porsche 07-19-2015 03:14 PM

Sent the missus off to the W place. Fcuk w*#k, it's too bloody cold to leave the fart sack for me.

I'm taking an rdo.

Rick V 07-19-2015 04:05 PM

Well Jeff I understand the hating cold thing so I won't be a total jack wipe and tell you about the great hike Beth and I had to White Rock Falls today.
I'm not that much of an ass

Outback Porsche 07-19-2015 04:10 PM

LOL

It's warmed up to -1 already, still no hot water though.

Regardless, I'm gunna enjoy my day off. :)

porsche4life 07-19-2015 04:16 PM

Jeff I understand it doesn't get cold often there. But why do you have uninsulated pipes on the roof?

Outback Porsche 07-19-2015 04:29 PM

The pipes are insulated, I watched the plumber fit it when the new HWS was installed in January - obviously we need a little more as yesterdays -4 was not a problem. ;)

Also, the thermometer dipped at -5 this morning. :(

Btw, it's not froze no more, shower time woohoo.
