It's his bang around project while his other rides are getting attention. He built it, had it on the road a week, and went on vacation with wife and kid...1800mi journey.

Other sweet rides are a Grand National, 78mm Turbonetics with a 4.2L Aurora Stage motor and a '70.5 Camaro with a 434ci sbc and F1 Procharger, 6-spd :)

Please post pics(and video if possible) of the GN and Camaro. They sound like pretty stout rides.

911SauCy 08-24-2015 07:09 AM

I don't have any pics of the GN, but it looks like the rest just with glass black paint and Billet SPecialty 5-spokes :)

So, I'll raise ya his weekend truck. Little sleeper makes 440w/490t to the rear tire, 2 owner, 31k miles

This photo of the Camaro was about 10 years back, was a 400ci sbc with a Vortec at the time, made 670 to the tire before I took the shots. Current config is about 900rwhp.

Oh yes, the air blows cold.

Nothing cheaper to build than a 1980s Chevy vehicle with a small block Cheby.

My El Camino is the only water cooled vehicle I have ever owned. I can't seem to go more than a month without some form of water leak. Sometimes it is a total mystery until it gets bigger. Here for the last few weeks I noticed the overflow reservoir level needed topping up every few weeks. No big deal since antifreeze is cheap. There was no smell of antifreeze and the oil is clear and clean.

Suddenly last Friday on the way home the smell of antifreeze was strong. I pulled in the garage and saw steam. Sure enough the cheap little plastic heater control valve had given up. The OEM valve was metal but those are near impossible to find. 20 bucks and 10 minutes fixed it up. It looked like it was leaking out just a little and drying out on the bottom of the hose but so little it did not stink.

It was nice that it failed in my garage and not on the road.

Way cool hot rods!!

The hood on the Camaro is just like the one I had on my 78. Of course, I wasn't making anywhere near the HP his does.

Glen--I saw a really nice mid-80s El on the road over the weekend and thought of you. All stock looking but for the cowl hood and tasteful chrome wheels.

Good Afternoon.

It's a Monday for sure. Being very atypical.

Sweet. Sister's vehicle is done and they have left for home. I couldn't get some of the deep scratches out but it looks(and feels) 100% better. I used my buffing wheel, light compound, and clay bar to get the crap off the paint before waxing.

She works midnights and her hubby works days so she napped on our couch while the kids played.

I was thrilled when my son asked if he could help me. I knew he would want $$(I wasnt charging my sister) but I saw an opportunity to teach him some car stuff. Hes got a way to go but he's remembering details from doing the other vehicles. He's not ready for the buffing wheel!

Now, to finish laundry and figure out something for supper.

When we got to Lake Superior, the high the first day was 61*.

Our lab is 7 and her energy is boundless. Our old lab was full of energy but knew how to sit and relax. I miss that about her.

We have moved twice in our almost 16 years of marraige. We lived in an apartment for a year after we got married and then bought her mom's house, which is awsome in California since if it stays in the family the property taxes don't change so we were paying $600 a year for an acre lot with a 1650sq/ft house in southern CA. Then we moved to Wisconsin. Been here almost 9 years and no plans to move. I wouldn't mind buying some farm land to put an off road course for a couple of the new Can-Am or Polaris enclosed ATVs to race on and some woods for hunting.

Oh, and for you beer drinkers, this was the cats bottom at the bed and breakfast of the 60s around Chippawa Falls.

Dad's racing number is/was 35 so I used that as a tribute when I couldn't just use Flipper, then I got used to using the number all the time.

My last name.

flipper35 08-24-2015 02:30 PM

Ah. This last name thing clears a lot up.

Oh Haha 08-24-2015 02:31 PM

Ironic with you and Dolphin and you post a pic of mine. OOOOOWEEEOOOOOOO.

I am not related to the beer company, though.

flipper35 08-24-2015 02:33 PM

In grade school I had a bunch of kids convinced we owned the Miami Dolphins.
