Yea, the news had a story not long ago about some top European stunt flyer that came to little Guthrie, OK to pick up the airplane designed and built in Guthrie.

The 540 is the standard Red Bull Air Race aircraft.

I have been to their hangar where they make them. The autoclave to make the carbon fiber parts is huge. It is cool that a family owned operation in a tiny town can make stuff like that.

[QUOTE=GH85Carrera;8972767]And ya don't die when ya screw up the stunt in a RC model.QUOTE]
no kidding. I once saw a guy pile it in doing a stunt show at the local air show for gas. Attempted a hammer head not enough altitude and went straight in. Plane ran out of gas there was no explosion.

Glen, it is nice to see a family run company that is that successful.
David, that would suck to see.

Evening Y'all,
I would love to be in an F14 and go off a flight deck, There is something so awesome about being at fulll throttle and being launched by a catapult.

just a regular take off in just about any jet fighter is pretty exhilarating.
I got to take a jump seat ride in a P-51 by donating to the Confederate Air Force. Where we were at he had to firewall it with the rudder against a fence to miss the power lines just after the end of the runway. That was pretty intense. He never even came close to the power lines, but it sure made for an exciting take off. Didn't really realize have fast it was until a couple of years later when I watched the Miss America P-51 take off and do a fly by, then a Christensen Eagle follow right behind doing the same thing. Man, the Eagle looked really tiny and SLOW! Didn't make near as much noise either.

Rick, that Tomcat would be at flying speed even if it had the engines off and the brakes locked. The catapult doesn't care. Of course your flying speed won't last with the engines off. They say it is 5-6g of acceleration.

The Texas Sweet oranges are in season and at the stores. Almost as good a Sumo orange and tons cheaper. A bag of 8 is $3.99 at the local Whole Paycheck (Whole Foods) They are good enough I bough three bags of em.
In the line to check out a swarm of dumb broads was in line. At least 5 women deep each with just one or two items. 1st dumb broad in line is digging through her coin purse to come up with the exact change. After an interminable period of her digging she decided she just did not have enough change. SO she closed the change purse and stuff it into a compartment in her giant purse. Unzips the another compartment and pulls out her billfold. Digs around for a while and pulls out a one and gets her receipt. Then she zips up her billfold back into her purse, and you guessed it, she digs back out the change purse and puts the change in the change purse. Then she finally gets the heck out of the way. The next idiot lady is chatting with another lady and is surprised to learn the check out person would like to ring her up and is totally shocked and surprised that she will need a form of payment. So once again out comes the billfold buried in the bottom of the purse. She fumbles for a credit card and guess what, rejected. ![]() Out comes a stack of credit cards she shuffles through like a deck of cards. She picks one and bingo, that goes through. The next lady is engrossed in her cell phone and just stands there reading something and not trying to check out. I was ready to shove her foreward when the clerk said "next" and the zombie came back to the world. Golly shopping there is fun sometimes.

Glen, you need to go to the high end stores. Then you get to see some real baggery. Of course, WalMart will get you just about every type of idiot out there too.
Those ladies were probably parked cross ways in a handicap spot as well.
