They sell real cow bones that have been boiled so it is just the bone material and they don't stink. They can grind on one and just love it. No mess at all.

Pepper likes pulling things out of the trash when I'm not looking and shredding it.

Noah930 12-07-2016 07:23 AM

Not so happy Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day to all. And especially to the 2403 and their families.

Mornin'. Some confusion today as the phone company came to fix a line that had the wrong billing address. I could point to the pair that had the trouble but since the address was wrong they can't tag it. Will be another 5 days. The address was another building here on campus. I think they wouldn't fix it because they are mad they lost our business.

GH85Carrera 12-07-2016 07:56 AM

With repair service like that no wonder they lost the business.

flipper35 12-07-2016 08:02 AM

Between that and their pricing. We needed a redundant internet connection for work that was reliable so the new company quoted us a pair of T1 (slow, but reliable) plus transferring 10 fax lines and it was $100 per month cheaper than the old company with the 10 lines and no internet.

The T1 is only there for when our fiber connection goes down.

My border collie shreds tissues if he finds one.

I'm enjoying retirement training at home. Busy though, getting through all the honey doos that have been neglected for the last year. Still, not getting out of the fart sack till about 9ish.

Finally got our taxes sorted, only a couple of months late. Good thing there's a healthy return coming our way

Usually overpay federal just enough to pay off the underpayment of state.

Interesting that when I had to consider I was head of household with disabled bro on SS Disability and Mom on SS, I actually paid less taxes.

Good over the Hump day.

One of the 13 year old computers we have here is having issues with the cooling fan in the power supply. Every morning I have the perform percussive maintenance on it. Two whacks on top of it shuts it up. I am guessing I need to shut it down and replace or lube that fan. Percussive maintenance usually only works for a short while.

RKDinOKC 12-08-2016 04:55 AM

Get a new power supply, they are usually a separate box in the cabinet and less than $75. And yes, it's usually the fan that goes out.

Gonna call today about changing my internet service provider. May go to fiber. Right now I have 50/10mbps and 5 fixed IP addresses for $162/mo. The 50mbps down is great, but only 10mbps up kinda sucks. Looks like can go to fiber and get 20/20mbps for $99/mp or 50/50mbps for $189/mo. Currently have a grandfathered in rate cox usually charges $189/mo. It's expensive getting faster upload speeds and a couple of fixed IP addresses.

Also going to check into lowering my cable TV costs.

Yea, finding a power supply to fit that 13 year old computer is going to be a challenge and it would cost more than the computer is worth. It is a 13 year old Win XP box. I can buy a fan for under 7 bucks and pop it right in in 30 minutes. We have 4 other identical computers. The real beauty of the Windows computers is off the shelf parts. All the power supplies sold today new are for the new motherboards. The connectors would never work. I have replaced many fans for a pittance. Our oldest computer is running Windows 2000. It is only 16 years old. It was a super fast mega machine back then. Now it just runs a SCSI raid. The desktop photo is of the daughter of a co-worker as a very young girl. She is 18 now. If it were not his daughter it would be rather creepy to have that photo on screen.
