I FINALLY got out of jury duty. I did not get out of the parking garage until 5:00 pm so peak rush hour.
I got home and fed the dogs and we went to pickup this.

That Macan is now in our garage. It was a long day and I still have on slacks and a shirt with buttons

Tomorrow is back to work and good clothes of shorts and a t-shirt.

Last night we went right from feeding the dogs, to the dealership. They (the dealer) are just two miles due west of us so not an arduous trip. We were there a couple of hours and had to sign our names about 20 times. I kid you not. It is like buying a house and we even had to sign one form that was a no financing financial agreement WTF. Then we got the 30 minute rundown on the features and I am sure it wil take some reading and learning yet to come to know the car.

We had not eaten so I stopped at a sandwich shop that is close to home. The chick that was behind the counter saw me drive up in my 911 and gave me a two thumps up. I thanked her and told he it has been a good toy. She asked how long I have had it and I replied likely longer that you have been alive, 22 years. She smiled and said she was 21 so yep.

By the time I got home Mrs Carrera (or should that be Mrs Macan) had backed her Infinity out into the driveway so she could park the Macan in the garage. She moved at a glacial pace. The Macan has cameras on all sides so there is no reason to not know where the corners are. She pulled way up forward because the tennis ball did not hit anyplace she was familiar with. We will have to adjust the tennis ball on a string high tech analog parking sensor (never needs batteries).

Today I get to call the insurance company and give them the happy news (for them) to add another car on the policy. Hopefully we will get the Infinity sold ASAP.

They parked our Macan on the showroom floor to keep it clean for us. You can see my 911 in the background and the Porsche logo on the dealer's sign.

Good Morning

Very nice, bet she is going to enjoy it!

You gonna get to drive it to the MIL's?

Macan is Indonesian for Tiger. They pronounce it Mahchn.

It is Carrera white of course!

It is a metallic white. It is just the base Macan. It will still run a 0-60 in something like 6.4 seconds so it is not a slug. It is my wife's daily driver. Gas mileage is more important than speed.

I will get some photos of it this weekend. My nephew is coming to town on his way to Colorado on Friday. He will spend two nights with us.

There is a LONG thread on the Macan forum about the pronunciation. Some Indonesian native speaking members even put their version on there.

I really wish Porsche would quit with the stupid names. Just stick to numbers for cars.

They first announced the Macan to PCA parade. They were going to call it the Cajun. We can pronounce that easily but Germans kept saying Cay-hoon. They did not like the reaction that resulted.

Congrats to you wife. Though I thought you bought the dealership when I first saw your post and photo. That would have been good too.

We had a bit of wind last night. Blew the kids playset over.

Just a little bit breezy, eh Brent?

Nice vehicle for the missus, Glen. 6.4 in the 0-60 isn't shabby at all.

Yeah, at least the motorcycle trailer didn't traverse the 80' to go through the garage again.

The 911 is the car just visible over the trailer. Glad the truck was there to take the brunt of the impact.

Yesterday after lunch I was coming back to the courthouse. Walking along on one street where some of the large building are everyone was leaning forward several degrees just to walk. The wind was a steady 40 or so. As soon as I turned the corner I almost fell over because the wind stopped. It was truly like a wind tunnel. No trailers or swing-sets moving around however.

Everyone should have a trailer as an early warning device.

We had a utility trailer for years and it never got blowed around none at our house in OKC. We kept it parked between two sheds and under a tree though.

Back before I was borned my family had a two story house in Pryor, OK. It was 2 blocks north of main street. My dad had a covered box trailer kinda like a U-haul trailer. A tornado went down main street tearing things up. When it was all over the house and big trees on the property looked fine. However the trailer was missing. One of the girls was the first to go upstairs with the kids rooms were. She screamed as soon as she looked in the girls bedroom. Though the roof looked fine from the outside the upstairs ceiling sheet rock was ripped up, AND the trailer was sitting in the middle of the girls bedroom. When they went to repair the roof they found the roofing and joists had been lifted up, the sheet rock scrambled, the trailer deposited upstairs, and the roof including joists set back on unscathed AND nail for nail.

They repaired the roof without taking it apart again, and got the trailer out by disassembling it. When they put the trailer back together they just made a short sided utility trailer out of it instead of a box trailer.
