Yea, HR was out of the office today too. Lawyer said to let it slide, act like it didn't happen, enjoy the extra day off and don't do anything that might give them any fuel. That the settlements aren't worth his time until they fire someone. Says he has seen this type of thing before. Just be cool, don't get reactive, document their actions, and let them build a better case against themselves. Says to let him know what the sensitivity training psyc says to determine if is in cahoots with them. Especially since asked to go to him for 6 months.

6 months seems excessive. I bet that will change after you tell him your side of the story.

Kinda wonder about the psyc they are sending me to. Have heard that a company paid for psyc doesn't keep doctor/patient private from company footing the bill. Brother told me he and his wife go to him and nobody will know what I say including them. Told my brother I wasn't too worried because I pretty much tell people things to their face and that's why I'm in trouble now. But will be very guarded because of other experiences I've learned about.
May talk about how I wasn't prejudice, but suddenly find myself prejudice towards black women and women who work in HR.

I'd call that a huge conflict of interest.

Concur, it's a big fat crock.
We think the missus's work are trying a different approach, they are doing it with boredom. We think they want to make her redundant. Problem for them is as she's been with them for 20 years, it'll cost them a 60 week redundancy payment to do it. We think they figure if they can get her to quit instead then there's no payout. She's struggling with the boredom, it'll be a battle me thinks.

The climate in the good ol' USA is such a woman can say anything a man says or does makes them "uncomfortable" and it's harassment. Lawyer says punishment has to be serious enough he can ask for enough settlement in a countersuit he can keep appealing until it makes it to a jury trial to show how petty the accuser is being and judge for the accused. Otherwise the accuser's just state precedents. Says there are a lot of women out there making claims, getting paid off. and the guys didn't deserve it but the company would not spend the money to fight it.

Richard, doctor patient and HIPPA are stout laws. As the doc point blank about the privacy. They would have to get you to sign a waiver to release any info. Unless it is some pretend doctor feel good councilor. If they are licensed they have to follow the law.

He hasn't in the past even after he said he couldn't. Asked about HIPPA and friend says something about agreeing to go to a company paid for counselor has some fine print giving them access.

May have to rethink my alarm. The shortest time they will let me have the alarm go off from the overhead door is 1 minute. Even though the delay coming in the front door is 30 seconds and it is across the house. Then they call my cell phone. Then they call the cops. Thats at least 4 minutes for a policeman to be on the scene.
When we had the medical alert my Mom forgot what it was and pressed the button. Within 15 seconds we got a call from the security company. I answered the phone, gave them my code and told them she pressed the button by accident. Within 30 seconds of hanging up the phone a saw a police officer drive by. Then he stopped and came to the door to make sure everything was okay. That means the police reacted to the alarm when it first went off and didn't wait for the alarm company to call to see if it was a false alarm. If I am looking at 4 minutes as a response time, just afraid the car would be gone. They also said my address was in Edmond not OKC and Edmond does not require permits like OKC. Am going to have to call OKC and find out because my property is in OKC, but has an Edmond address. Get an OKC water/garbage bill but is Edmond Fire/Police.

Stijn!!
Richard, just like me you live in OKC but the mailing address says Edmond only because that is the closest post office. I can assure you, you need the permit and if you call the cops OKC comes. The Edmond border is almost a mile north. I have had a false alarm and OKC cops showed up. Since I have the permit it was no big deal.

I've made some cannelloni, haven't made it for donkeys years. Now I remember why - it's rather involved.
All ready to finish cooking for tomorrow nights dinner. ![]()

Figured I needed a permit because there was one stuck to the window for our past system. The Alarm company took care of it. Seems they do less now-a-days. Got to print my own certificate to send to my insurance company to get the discount.
Cannelloni? That reminds me of my college days. Pizza joint I worked at had Cannelloni. Used a pastry bag to fill the cannelloni pasta sleeves (for lack of a better word for it). We also had spaghetti, lasagna, and a dish called amatriana. That was sea shell pasta with a cream based sauce. It was very good. Sold about 10 to 15 a day of each of those dishes. Had some very good sauce options for the spaghetti too. Lots and lots of pizzas and nachos though. Especially nachos after they added my meat nachos to the menu (before then nobody served nachos with meat on them). The pizza cheese was a mix of mozzarella, provolone, and cheddar. The filler for the lasagna and cannelloni always started with a mixture of cottage cheese and pizza cheese. The one exception was football game days, it was a mad house. On game days the pastas sold out the wazoo, outselling pizza. Usually had someone just prepping pastas all day on game days.

I love cannelloni. It just takes a couple of hours to make. I picked a heap of fresh basil from the garden to make it extra yummy 😋

Realized something. Don't know where or what size clothes to buy because I haven't bought clothes for myself since I was in my 20's. Mainly long pants and shirts. As trousers and shirts wore out or got holes or thin, new stuff just appeared in my closet and the old stuff disappeared. And always fit great. Especially after started wearing chinos and sports shirts as business casual after I started working in the office and not the machine shop.
After college moved back home to help Mom take care of my Dad. When she noticed clothes getting a little worn she would get me new stuff. Said it was the least she could do for me staying at home and helping with Dad instead of getting my own place. She also had been a seamstress since she was young and if she noticed something didn't fit just right, she would alter it. When I started flying R/C planes I bought myself a pair of shorts from LL Bean and a Hawaiian shirt. Bam, I had like four pair of the same shorts and 6 Hawaiian shirts. AND found she had made the Hawaiian shirts. Soon after I complained because my work shirts didn't have labels so took a little longer to tell which was right side out when hanging them up from the dryer. Thought Mom had removed the labels. Next thing I know all my label-less shirts had a tag in the neck that said "Made Especially for You by Mom." She had started making my sports shirts. She pretty much made sure I had clothes that fit up until a couple of years before my foot incident. When I was 180 lbs. Since my foot incident and the doc says because of the synthetic insulin I'm on, have gained 70lbs. And can't seem to shake it. Down to just one pair of chinos I found in my closet from when I was in my early 40's and almost as big as I am now. Was 230 instead of 250. So need to update my business casuals for the bigger me. Problem is don't know where to shop for pant's and shirts, and don't have any idea what sizes I need. Since I was told to get a hair cut and not wear shorts to work am tempted to go get fitted for a nice suit. The only times I've been on campus at work in the last 8 years is for drug tests. One should look their best when taking a pee for their job, right?

You can never look too good to pee in cup.
![]() I spent much of yesterday and today playing plumber on my boat. I replaced a leaking line for my sink/shower wand. I replaced all of the sanitary system hoses, too. Smelly old hoses and very cramped quarters to work in. I'm hoping to never do that project again. ![]()
