That was interesting. Contacted VMWare support because my Mac Fusion which is running Windows10 stopped doing drag and drop between the virtual machine and my Mac. Use it to get reports I create with Powershell on remote servers using remote desktop in Windows, and then copy the csv files to my Mac so I can massage them in Filemaker. Don't understand how people do real database stuff with Excel.

Let support remote into my Mac using Webex. That guy went thru my Mac and Windows10 both. In not very long at all, He was doing stuff so fast I couldn't keep up. He changed stuff in Windows 10 and Fusion. Uninstalled and re-installed the Fusion Tools in Windows. The key to my problem was there were some files the uninstaller did not get rid of. Then he tweaked a few settings. Now not only does drag and drop work but Windows runs faster than it did before. Also My Windows 10 shuts down and/or restarts about 3 times faster than it did before.

Sometimes it pays to talk to the guys that do that stuff all day long.

The transgender thread got me thinking about a comment Jacob made the other day. He had seen a commercial when visiting my mom and it was either Leah Pritchett or one of the Force girls. He told my wife that they show girls in race suits to sell things because boys like to look at girls in race suits. I asked mom and no, it didn't come from her. May have come from school, but in either case that kid says the darnedest things. A few years ago we were at a ball game and he walked over and sat between two young girls, said hey girls and proceeded to share their popcorn. I don't think he will ever have a problem finding a date.

Only if the really are experts!

Years ago we had our old Agfa 60 inch wide printer have major issues. We did all we could here so the boss called tech support at Agfa. The guy showed up and took it apart and it was totally FUBAR after that. We just pushed it to the curb and disposed of a printer that was more then I paid for my 911. And Agfa sent us a bill for the effort and an estimate of $14,000 to repair it. We have an Epson now. 1000 times easier to use, it is faster and better in every way. That Agfa printer was a POS.

I went to lunch today and I drove on a road called Boulevard. It is a boulevard so it is Boulevard Blvd.

Anyway the cops seem to make 1/2 the city budget on that road with tickets. The speed limit is 35. They might float a couple of MPH but not 5. If you are a young-un it is 35 max. I was going along at 35 in the right lane with a fool in a Mustang behind me. The Mustang was bright red with a wide dual white stripe down the middle. He was right on my bumper. The car in the left lane turned left and Mr Mustang decided to show me how to drive. He punched it and passed me with just inches to spare. Loud exhaust bringing more attention to a bright red car.

Mr police man was not impressed. I was impressed by how funny I found it to be.

Speeding on Blvd Blvd is stupid at any time. I bet the Mustang was at 50 when the cops tagged him.

Mr. Mustang would be screwed if the street had a curve in it.

Yea, I would have wet my pants laughing if he had spun out and crashed into the tree the cop was parked next to. The University is just up the road a mile and they get a LOT of students from all over the place. Young and dumb with the parents paying the bills. There is a high school 1/2 a mile away from the area as well.

At the parking lot where I parked I noticed how virtually every vehicle is a LARGE high end SUV, mostly black or dark silver. Dozens of em. There was only one car and it was a new BMW 750 iL that I parked next to. Edmond has a lot of very well to do citizens. I was at a register the other day and saw the lady in front of me whip out her black metal American Express card to buy $2 worth of bananas. No doubt she could buy the store with that card.

Jacob sounds like he'll do just fine.

And condolences to the Mustang guy. It's a shame to be dumb.

Thanks to him overhearing me telling my wife what Joe said about him becoming a Ranger he asked about it.

Now his career goal is to be a medic/clergy in the Rangers as long as his mom can deploy with him. I think that would be a first.

Good Friday morning all.

I had to actually work late last night

A hot job cam in and the pilot got it flown. I had to drive over to the airport where we keep the airplane. The pilot texted me a ETA on his landing of 4:12 PM so off I went and got there at 4:10. The wind was blowing hard straight north. We have a Cessna 206 with is a 6 passenger airplane so it is not tiny, but it ain't big either. The seats in the back have not been in there since 1969 when we bought it, they are stacked in the hangar. The camera sits back there.

Anyway he landed at 4:14 so I gave him grief about the 2 minutes late and he said it was the crazy headwinds. He landed and it looked like he was going 30 or so as he touched down. He had to add power to taxi to the taxiway and go to the fuel pumps where I was waiting.

I got back here and got the jobs started processing on the software. I will FTP them to the client in a few minutes when I get a few files put together and the job is done.

Phew, I may have to take the afternoon off.

One of the programs that we use for the processing of the images into a final product calculates the hundreds of millions or sometimes many billions or points in a 3D model. One step is does it calls "calculating uncertainty" which for some reason always makes me grin. If I can calculate how uncertain I am I should be able to be positive I am correct. I guess it is to what order of magnitude of accuracy it is right.

Sounds like it may use similar mathematics to what the Heart of Gold spaceship uses for space travel in the Hitchhiker's Guide trilogy (5 books) with it's improbability drive. Just don't hook that program up to a hot cup of tea, no telling what might happen!
