Went to lunch today with brother Tom, Chairman of the Board at the company I slave at home for.
It was a local popular charcoal burger joint. It started 1 block from where I went to HS but back in the 60's when my brother when to HS. Recognized the guy that took our monies. He worked in the back flipping burgers when I went to HS. He manages that store now. Told him I remembered him from when used to walk from school and get Onion Rings and a Dr Pepper at lunch. He said he did too, and it was still expensive even back then. I said yeah, it was $2 for an order of onion rings and a dr pepper in 1975. Even though they closed the original location and opened several others around town the place is pretty much exactly the same as it was back then. Don't know of many places like that. Several people had to stop at our table and say hello to my brother. A lot of people know him and of him. One guy said hi and all that stuff. He turned to me and said I better be careful hanging around that guy. Said, Yeah, I'm likely to get a good reputation. A couple came by and talked about both their sons working for the company. Kept going on and on about how their boys such a good company. I finally had to say, "Well, they're still young. They'll learn." Everyone cracked up. Know their sons, they are in their late 40's. When Bro dropped me off at home he said he really enjoyed lunch today. Said when Bob was visiting he askes him to get coffee a couple of times a day. usually right before a mealtime. And all Bob would talk about was UFOs or not having any money. Said Sorry, I couldn't really talk much about UFOs. All I know is from Si-Fi books and movies, but could always talk about wanting to get paid more. Tom drove off laughing. Think I was brown nosing?

It never hurts to make the big boss laugh, as long as he is not laughing AT you.

Good Saturdee Mertnin.
Just got back from taking Pepper fer a walk. A bit cloudy, but only 75°F, nice. If I asker her if she wants to go for a walk or a ride, she runs to the back door so she can go "do her stuff" first. That way don't have to take a doggy baggy. She goes before we go so doesn't go while on the go.

You would be the reason I'm going. Don't know anyone else. Plan to wander around and then go see some sights in Spokane.

Well, I wish I was going to parade, but I guess I will go mow before it gets hot. The humidity has dropped 5% in the last 45 minutes. It is "down" to just 85% now. Gack!
At least it is just 79 degrees at the moment on the way to mid-90s.

All registered. Got dad in. He wanted a pin for his hat. Goodie bag came with two. Had to wait in line 1.5 hours to get him in.

Stijn!!
On inevitable part of Parade is waiting in lines. Lines for almost everything.
I was almost to do a happy dance when my lawn mower started up like it should. Then I realized it just meant I needed to mow the yard. Yard work was done and I checked out the fence. Several panels needed more screws so I screwed around driving more screws into the panels to keep them secure in the Oklahoma winds. Got done and ready for a shower by 11:00 am. The F1 race was pretty exciting near the end. Good race overall. Except for poor Alanzo.

Friends wife thinks Alonzo is da bomb. Called Massa a porch monkey, don't think she likes him.
I like Kimi even though he doesn't win. When we do hear from him, he cracks me up.

Good Morning all.
My local friend that went to Parade picked up my goodie bag and meal tickets. He managed to sell the welcome party tickets and the concours banquet tickets already. He picked up my grill badges as well. I always get one for me and one for another local friend that collects parade badges. He can't get my name badges until the end of Parade, and that is a minor thing. I have all my past parade name badges on the wall in my garage.

Badges, we don't need no stinking badges.
Sorry, couldn't resist. I know, I know...that is really going to get me in trouble with my Sensitivity Certification.

Monday morning everyone but Jim. Did very little of anything yesterday but we did have cake and ice cream. I did finish mowing the yard Saturday evening after the get together at the boss' house.
Ordered oil for the Cobra over a week ago at the local parts place since they usually have good prices. They forgot to ship it and it might be in today. Arrgh! I should order it early spring and be done. Or get some Brad Penn ordered.

I use Brad Penn in both of my cars. 20-50 in the 911 and 10-30 in the El Camino. I get it from a local wholesaler. I get a case at a time (12 quarts per case) for each car. Of course the 911 uses 10 quarts on an oil change and the rest is used up over the year from driving, so one case per oil change for the 911. The Elky just uses 4 quarts and I only add a little over the oil change interval.
Last time I called them I asked if they had enough on hand, he said the order more when they get down to 50 cases. I did not need quite that much!

The Cobra uses 5 quarts and I use 20-50 in that. What I really need is a baffle or two in the sump so that when the oil is hot it doesn't slosh out of the sump on a hard pull. I need one in the fuel tank also. If I am down to 1/3rd tank I will run the carb empty by third gear from a standing start. The tank does have an angle if the front is left it would be similar to this: _/ but at a lesser angle.
I have thought about cutting the tank open to put baffles there, but it is aluminum. Were it steel it would have been done long ago, but as I can live with it since it doesn't happen often I have just put it off. I do need a road race oil pan, especially if I put the other block together one day. That will take me from about 6# per pony to 4.8#. That would mean 10s easy in the 1/4 if I ever went to the drag strip.
