I think that make you go in circles in the air and on the ground so you feel like you got your moneys worth.

We have an IT conference every fall in Austin. It isn't bad, you catch the shuttle to the hotel and the conference is a couple blocks away. The only bad thing is it is stinking hot, even when the conference was in November. The conference is good, I just wish I didn't have to travel to get to it. I hate work travel.

RKDinOKC 07-31-2017 02:28 PM

Too bad you go back Friday. Saturday morning is the monthly 928 breakfast just north of DFW Airport. Could get up early, scooter poot down in the Cayenne and take you to the 928 group Breakfast.

Porsche-poor 07-31-2017 02:39 PM

Richard that would have been great but no can do. I need to get home Friday and get my dad over to my sisters on Saturday.

LOL I may have to use that.

RKDinOKC 08-01-2017 05:07 AM

Mertnin.

8am, 69°F and 100% humadity outside right now.

GH85Carrera 08-01-2017 05:28 AM

Just a mile east of you and it is 67 degrees and only 95% humidity. Heat index is 69. ;)

Who woulda thunk on August first we would see those temps. Positively not complaining, I am loving it. Even a 1/10 of an inch of rain as a bonus.

We are taking credit for the cool cloudy weather. We have a decent little job to fly here in the metro area. They gave us the go last week. It has been overcast or partial every day since.

Hey, it ain't Monday!

flipper35 08-01-2017 09:46 AM

Sure, a little metro job today and a new Gulfstream next week. Uh huh!

GH85Carrera 08-01-2017 10:03 AM

Golly I love bureaucrats. ;)

We are trying to get set up as a vendor for the State of Oklahoma. Any state agency by law now has to pay on-line. That is fine with me. BUT....

I filled out a two page long document with the agency we are scheduled to do a project with soon. They did their part and now the state sends me a link to a web site to download a PDF to fill out. I get it filled out and signed and I have to take it to our bank for them to sign and the bank has to fax the form to the state. In the meantime I have to set up an account with yet another user name and password to then go through several pages of stuff. I had to enter the same address on each page. Why not just have a button, you the same address for everything? That would be logical. Enter the FEI number and enter the vendor number and on and on.

As a taxpayer I am glad it is a pain and documented who is doing what, but what a pain as a vendor. Oh well, that is why I make the big paycheck. ;)

We had a temp of 66 degrees at 9:20 AM and a total of .81 inches of rain. It is only 71 degrees at 1:00 PM on August first. Astonishing. Wonderful.

This is in the garage now. The Panamara is a long vehicle. The rear seats have huge leg room. Mrs Carrera had to take her Macan in for a factory recall. It is something to do with a flange on the gas tank that the part supplier to Porsche had some possible leaks under the right conditions. They are going to fix it and it takes some time so they let her have a Panamara as a loaner.

RKDinOKC 08-01-2017 11:18 AM

As long as the right conditions weren't putting gas in the tank...LOL.

Just got informed that open containers are no longer allowed at work. Beverages could be contaminated with chemicals, oh my. Everything has to be sturdy and have a lid. If the new health and safety guy keeps this up, everyone will have to wear tyvek hazmat coveralls anywhere on company property. And according to the notice this is somehow the will of God?

Had to go to a class on proper posture and how to work to minimize injury. Looked to me like they are restricting movement and will start having more repetitive stress injuries. I've already seen people that were the early adopters of the standing desks have started having both feet/leg problems and are wearing carpal tunnel wrist straps. Thought it was better to train for more reach to expand movement without injury not minimize movements. Thought it was neat when i saw some manufacturers in China were starting shifts with calisthenics and ti chi instead of restricting movement.

Well, my employer makes me do all kinds of **** work that's not in my job description. Sanding drywall, part two. :( Also mudded a few spots. A bit more sanding tomorrow and I'll clean out the garage for painting on Thursday.

GH85Carrera 08-01-2017 01:11 PM

I let Mrs Carrera chauffeur me around today. The back seat is roomy.

They have a 2018 Panamara on the showroom floor that is already sold. It has the sticker of $120,000. It is next to the 911 Turbo S for $220,000. It was white but it did not have a Burgundy interior like both of my cars so I did not buy it.

The Panamara is back to the dealership and the Macan is back in the garage.

After all the work on-line and the paperwork and going to the bank to get them to do their part and fax the form it would not go through. I called and the trouble desk could not even get in touch with the department to ask them if the Fax machine was working.

I noticed they did have an address where I could mail the form so it is stamped and ready to go via snail mail.

I thanked the lady at the bank for her efforts.

At least your employer buys your lunch too!

RKDinOKC 08-01-2017 06:29 PM

RKDinOKC 08-01-2017 07:28 PM

Eye specialist today. 20/20 in my right eye. 20/40 in my left. Best vision in my left eye in over a year.

GH85Carrera 08-02-2017 05:04 AM

David, you might be able to find a good BBQ place down there. ;)

There is one ever mile around here. Sometimes more than one in a mile in the busy areas. Maybe some Mexican food as well. Might as well enjoy the stay, you are stuck till Friday.

Hey, its Humpday again!

RKDinOKC 08-02-2017 07:18 AM

There is one area here that there are 4 chicken places. KFC, Canes, Chick Fil A, and PDQ. The Canes and Chick Fil A are across the street from each other and the KFC and PDQ are across the street from each other.

Oh yeah...Mertnin

GH85Carrera 08-02-2017 07:43 AM

David, on our last airline flight back home from Portland we had the flight from hell.

As soon as the wheels came up some little kid started crying for he baba. Whatever it was. The parents never did a dang thing, just let her scream. If my wife had not had me trapped against the window I would have gone over to the dad and told him to get that brat a baba and shut her up. The entire flight she cried. We got to DFW an there was a thunderstorm. So we flew in circles for an hour. It was a Southwest airlines flight so no food. It was 10:00 PM when we came in for final approach. The little screamer finally shut up as we hit the ground.

We were hungry so I hauled butt looking for food while my wife watched the luggage. All the food places were closed. Finally bout a 1/2 mile away I found a sandwich shop and got two cold sandwiches for 15 bucks each and that was all they had. She locked up as I left. I hiked back to my wife and we ate with the other passengers looking at us like hungry dogs.

I saw the parents pushing the screamer around in a baby carriage and the kid was asleep. I was VERY tempted to walk up to the parents and start yelling that I have he baba she was looking for to wake the brat up. But I figure I was free of the jerks and would never have to see them again.

Guess what, they were in the line to get on the connecting leg to go to to OKC. I almost cried. And the screamer was all rested up and ready to scream from wheels up to landing.:mad::mad:
