Gosh that was fun.
I processed the credit card. The invoice is paid. I had to log onto our customers "fastpay" system. Evidently they are big enough that they have Bank of America set up a special credit card just for each vendor. I had to log into BOA system and set up yet another username and password with three different security questions to remember. That got me to the credit card information I needed. Of course I don't get a actual credit card, just a number. Then I have to go to our account with the Square reader credit card system and process the card number on my cell phone. If I had a actual card I could swipe it or read the chip with the hardware we had to buy. Got through that process and only 20 minutes later the car is processed. It will be interesting to see how long it is before it actually shows up in our account. Next time it should go faster. I just need several of those to do every single day. |
Just put on their bill that the payment is due in 30 days (standard) after that in incurs a 10% late fee.
Found with my eye surgeries they ALWAYS charge the patient 5% over what insurance will pay and make the excuse that you must not have met your deductible. To me that is just plain robbery. My insurance has a deductable on meds, but not procedures. I wait till they threaten to send the bill to collections then tell them I am happy to send them information that I don't have a deductible on procedures and they drop the charges. |

I only notice them if I am sitting at my desk or if Pepper barks at them. She only barks at the bigger ones.

At a former place of employment we had a retired CPA as the on-staff bookkeeper. He was a real stickler for payments on time. He charged interest to every late invoice. Only small businesses ever paid the interest. ALL of the big companies just said here is the check for the amount due, if you want interest, sue us. They all paid when it was 90 days or more overdue. The CPA guy that worked for us explained it was standard practice for the big companies to be slow pay. They might have a million or even way more due payments and they can keep the cash in their account and earn interest. They know we are never going to sue them for the few bucks of interest and piss off a big client.
One of the companies that is a local OKC based company that is rather large and has really good ice cream is an exception. They always pay an invoice within 10 days. Always. Whenever they called and asked can we have...... we told them YES. Whatever you want, we can do that and you are moved to the top on the to do list, we love you guys. It could be a little 20 dollar invoice or as much as my first house cost, they paid in 10 days. |
It's (relatively) hot & humid here. Perfect weather for painting.
It still beats drywall work. |
If you start dreaming about doing drywall work you might want to call in an exorcist.

We are back to the low 90s, but not 100 so we are happy.
I was just out and about and saw a very black dude. He had dark black skin, wearing long sleeved black pants, black socks and black shoes, and long sleeved black shirt and a black hat. He was driving a black car and the interior was dark but I did not get close enough to tell if it was really black but I bet it was. The sun is out and in the sun it is hot. He was leaning against the fender in the parking lot in front of a liquor store while some other dude was coming out with a bottle in a bag. I would have passed out from heat exhaustion in 5 minutes dressed like that in the hot sun. I broke a sweat just looking at him. |
It is so humid here the water fell out of the air.

We had some of that yesterday, but the quantity was laughable. I could almost see every drop that came down.

Welp, If it's not what you say or how you say it but you make people feel stupid...Guess What?
Gave a bunch of employees email accounts. Each received an envelope with their name on it. In the envelope was a piece of paper. It has their Name, Login, and Password, and the employee web site. The Login consists of the first initial of their first name and their last name, like jdoe for John doe. The password is two easy 3 letter words followed by a single number, like bigcow7 or dogtoy3. The account is for them to access their hours, pay, vacation, etc. along with their training and classes available for future training. When they were given their envelope they were trained how to use a kiosk and did so using their login and password from the sheet in the envelope. There are kiosks around the facility for users without computers to use. More than half the new users cannot figure out how to login. Most can't remember their login let alone their password. |
Most don't know their own names. ;)
Ceiling's done. Tomorrow & Saturday, the walls. Progress! |
Evening all. Headed home tomorrow afternoon. Should just get home for rush hour.
