yeah but could you handle the stress of a 15 year old driving the 928?

Porsche-poor 10-03-2017 09:56 AM

wow just found out a friend of mine was with his wife and some friends this last weekend and was assaulted by two men. Supposed to be unprovoked which I believe as he is one of the nicest people I know. Broke a few bones in his face and is now off work.

This is why I pack.....you get one free swing then all bets are off so you better make it a good one.

Hey! She is 15 and a HALF! :)

The Cobra is the same way. It is so light and has enough bottom end you could practically dump the clutch and it will just chirp the tires and idle away. The first time my wife drove it (before we were even dating) she started out in third gear. That was partially my fault as I was not used to moving the shifter from the right seat and it is a shortened shifter will little difference between 1 and 3 or 2 and 4.

Congrats to Emily! Mom & Dad will now sprout (more?) gray hairs! :D

The 964 garage queen now has a fresh oil change and brake fluid flush. She looks and drives great...not a day over 24.

flipper35 10-03-2017 01:10 PM

Nah, I keep mine pretty well cut short so no one can tell.

They will get to experience the Jacob who told my wife today that he likes oranges because you can hide them up your sleeves and sneak them into the movie theater. What the heck? We have never tried to sneak anything into the theater because we always get the big popcorn to rip us off. Some days you never know where he comes up with ideas. He doesn't even eat oranges much.

Glen we probably will be coming back through your city on the way home a week from Monday. I think Monday. Still working out all the last minute stuff on where we want to go after the conference.

Too bad Richard hasn't gotten his car back yet, Emily got her driver's permit paperwork today!

Sounds good to me. When you get close to the day and know have an ETA we can make plans. So Monday the 9th?

flipper35 10-03-2017 01:19 PM

I believe so, yes. I will PM my cell number for you.

GH85Carrera 10-03-2017 01:49 PM

Great, PM received and replied.

Monday is the one day of the week they Ann's Chicken Fry is closed. :(

Oh well there are other places to eat and that assumes you are coming at a time when you are hungry and want to spend the time to eat. We can for sure meet up somewhere.

Jim Richards 10-03-2017 01:51 PM

The place we ate at was good.

flipper35 10-03-2017 02:15 PM

Emily is the most adventurous. She once asked if we could eat at a vegan Lebonese/Greek buffet. It was weird because the Greek had lamb chops and other meats and the Lebonese side was all vegan on the same buffet line.

Jacob likes meat. He, over the course of two days, ate half of a smoked venison roast. As long as there is meat or chicken strips he will be happy.

My wife and I are pretty adventurous other than I am far more tolerant of spicy food than she is.

Porsche-poor 10-03-2017 04:24 PM

Ok just had a guy stop and ask how much for the targa. What's it worth?

RKDinOKC 10-03-2017 05:28 PM

Haggerty says $42,000 to $60,000 for excellent to concour condition.

Porsche-poor 10-03-2017 05:49 PM

I'm sure it's not in the excellent category. Even if I like it.

RKDinOKC 10-03-2017 06:00 PM

Okay then

#2 Excellent $42,300
Could win a local or regional show. They can be former #1 vehicles that have been driven or have aged. Seasoned observers will have to look closely for flaws, but will be able to find some not seen by the general public. The paint, chrome, glass and finishes will all appear as excellent. No excessive smoke will be seen on startup, no unusual noises will emanate from the engine. The vehicle will drive as a new vehicle of its era would.

#3 Good $27,700
Could possess some, but not all of the issues of a #4 vehicle, but they will be balanced by other factors such as a fresh paint job or a new, correct interior where applicable. #3 vehicles drive and run well, but might have some incorrect parts. These vehicles are not used for daily transportation but are ready for a long tour without excuses, and the casual passerby will not find any visual flaws.

#4 Fair $16,500
Daily drivers, with flaws visible to the naked eye. The chrome might have pitting or scratches, the windshield might be chipped. Paintwork is imperfect, and perhaps the body has a minor dent. Split seams or a cracked dash, where applicable, might be present. No major parts are missing, but the wheels could differ from the originals, or other non- stock additions might be present. A #4 vehicle can also be a deteriorated restoration.

Porsche-poor 10-03-2017 06:06 PM

1979 it has been painted. 137k on the clock, top end (heads) done. Targa recovered. Recaro SRD seats, have originals, a/c removed.

RKDinOKC 10-03-2017 06:17 PM

Was told by more than one appraiser the GTS was elevated from Excellent to Concours because of the rarity and desirability of the color and being a 5 speed. Had it checked when offered $70K a little over 2 years ago.

Jim Richards 10-03-2017 06:37 PM

Check comps on Pelican's and Rennlist's classifieds, and ebay completed sales.

Porsche-poor 10-03-2017 06:43 PM

I looked here could find any. I'll try the others tomorrow. Guess I need to decide if I want to sell.

GH85Carrera 10-03-2017 07:08 PM

I always tell people if I sell, it would be well above fair market value. Don’t settle for just fair, go for higher end unless you are really thinking of getting out of a air cooled 911.

Porsche-poor 10-03-2017 07:22 PM

It's tempting but it is also not replaceable
