That's what I was thinking, I am outside getting a bit of a workout. I could even listen to music if I wanted to pop the earbuds in.
The meeting today was frustrating. The developer we are talking with says it will take months to make a change so out users can go more than 42 days before changing a password. I said it is either a change in a database for the number of days or it is hard coded. If neither of those it was poorly implemented and they need to hire better developers. Same with the way we log in. There are two choices and we only use the one choice. Ever. Why can't you set a flag so when we want to log in it looks at the URL to see who we are and not offer the second, never used, login. When I asked why it takes 3 months to make that change she said it is a long technical explanation and is not an easy change. I said yes it is. My fear now is they have improperly written a bunch of it and have a bunch to go fix. Even if it is a shared resource between different companies and just the subdomain determines which database it isn't that hard to do. How hard is it to write - If this company URL, skip to this specific login. Or set a flag in a database. It isn't three months work. I hate when people get info from the development team and pass it on as gospel truth since the liaison doesn't understand it either. Excuse me while I beat a head against a wall. |
sounds like someone screwed up and they don't want to fix it.

or they purposely designed in stupid **** hoping to make more $$ on "upgrades."

Tried a software drawing package that was very affordable. When saw we needing more features the software company said it would take custom programming, take a lot of time, and would be $$$$. On a whim took a gander at the coding. All of the features we wanted, and more were already in the software. It only needed to be turned on. They charged for each feature individually and drug out the "custom programming" time to make it seem like you were getting your money's worth.
Decided to go with a different software package that was more honest about the features and costs for a lot less. On other software package I enabled all the features, put my alias on the splash screen and gave it to a user in the local Mac user group. Four years later the founder of the company I work for got himself a Mac for home. Someone he knew from Venezuela gave him a copy of some drawing software to try. He brought it to me to see what I thought. About fell over laughing when the splash screen had my alias on it! Told the founder it was out dated and gave him a copy of what we were currently using. |
Good Morning.
Drove the GTS to go get a burger and milk shake last night. Sure like driving that thing, even short shifting. Still miss rev matching downshifts though. Can rev match downshifts without braking, but the car isn't slowing fast enough to make the downshift much of a difference in RPM. Doesn't sound nearly as good either. |
Morning all.
It is gonna be a busy day today. Sorry Richard, no lunch for us. I have to drive down to Norman to the National Weather Center again and deliver a second part of the the project. Then drive home, load up with equipment and head to a different airport that we normally use. The airplane we normally rent is in the shop for a starter issue, our normal backup is down with a bad nose strut, or third choice is booked for pilot instruction. Our 4th backup is a nice aircraft but it is 85% more money per hour to rent and at an airport that is out of the way and hard to get to for us. We could buy an airplane but then we have to deal with bad starters and nose struts and hangar space rental. In between the Norman delivery and the flight we have a conference call with a guy in Great Brittan about a potential nice project. We are real happy it is snowing in the NE part of the country because we have a project to get flown ASAP but the ground has to be clear of snow. My partner is hoping one project we bid in Maui will be green lighted. He may require a few days working on his tan to get that one done. |
So, I did a first yesterday.
It was my first time to cook Salmon. Grilled it on a Charbroil Smoker Roaster Grill, SRG. Put cherry wood chips in the SRG smoker box and fired it up on high, takes about 10 minutes to start smoking. Pulled the Salmon out of the fridge, a skin on filet. Hit it with some lemon juice, and black pepper. Can't use no more salt because of the TIA. Once the grill was smokin, put the 1 inch filet skin side down on the grill for 10 minutes. Ate it with some garlic toast made from whole wheat slider buns, and broccoli with cheese. It was kind of expensive, but was good. Will be doing that again. |

Glen, owning would make sense if you fly all the time since your "hourly" rate will be less but no matter how much you fly you have to pay for an annual inspection and you have that hangar fee. The local airport here has them from $90-$350 depending on what features you would like, such as heat. For most of what you fly a Tri-Pacer would be just the ticket or if you want all metal a nice C152.

One of the guys I sat next to at my conference last week is the programmer for customizing the scripts they use at a large company. He said is 12 year old niece saw him coding one weekend. She wanted to learn more. He said she was a natural and in no times was very good at it. He gave her a few tasks to code for a custom script. She did so good the company now uses it. He said she is only a kid and no way in heck can they put her on the payroll or even let the HR department know she is working for them. He has her help on his projects now and then buys her the "stuff" that she wants with her parents approval. He told her when she is old enough he will be sure to hire her as an intern, and she will be full time quickly. She is 12 and already has a career set up.

We were paying $500 per month for a hangar and all it had was a few 20 amp electricity outlets. We have a spreadsheet now with all the numbers and when the numbers show it is time to own we will. There is a local Cessna 175 that is cheap that we will have the logs looked at and an inspection done. It is OLD but is if is in sound mechanical shape and corrosion free, it will be a good purchase. |
That's how our daughter earned the nickname "The Russian" at school a few years ago, before the elections and Hillarump mess. I told her the school would frown on her pranks to her classmates. Because of her custom scripts and now martial arts they think she is training to be a spy. Kids are...odd.

$500, holy cow! Then again, you are in a bigger metropolis than I.
A 206 is a lot of airplane for your current camera setup. Low hours on the current rebuild on the 175? |
Morning all. Got a few things to get done today and then relax at 4.

I got paid cash monies when I was that age. Waxed cars, mowed yards, and did electronic assembly, even grew and sold okra. It was all cash or personal checks. Learned quickly could cash the personal checks at my local grocery store. Kept the money off radar. Don't know if grocery stores would do that now. The grocery store bought my okra and resold it too.
First big thing got with my own money was a 10 speed bike. $215 was a lot of $2 lawns, $1 bags of okra, and $8 wax jobs. |
iHola, y’all!
I’m gonna play single guy for 10 days, starting tomorrow. My wife will be visiting her sister, leaving me with the dog and a honey do list. I might misplace the list... |
Just don't put the dog on the list to be lost.

A 152 is enough, but awful small and it gets blown around a lot more. 172 is about the right size. |
How many days until you order the Pizza and start the non-girly movie marathon?
Assuming the beer is already in the fridge. |
