I sure miss that location. That was not a great setup for that autocross. I always hated the really tight courses like that one when we had the beautiful track to use. My favorite was the esses on the west side. Screaming through corner at the horseshoe coming into the the esses shifting into third was just a blast. Now we are lucky to get to use most of 2nd gear.

Technically the courses are supposed to be designed so you can't get over 65mph, Technically. Think it is an insurance thing. However, have made speeds of up to 110mph on courses setup at the Sheriff's Training Center. Those S's you like I saw around 80mph (mid 3rd gear). In that crazy X3 it did 83mph through that slolam we typically setup for on that straight coming from the west onto the open area (in the 944 video above).

Our new county Sheriff sucks to close their track! Guess the Porsche club won't be donating any monies to his charitable cause.

The lloyd noble arena parking wasn't too bad, but I was just learning then.
The Jim Thorpe building parking was pretty small, and had loose gravel from the old asphalt.
The OKC police training at OSU tech was okay, but not much you could do to make the course different. Especially the way the Corvette club set it up. Wide open with basically no cones.

The new Sheriff sucks!
It ain't the Sheriff new or old, it is the Oklahoma County DA, David Prater. He is the biggest roadblock to getting back there. He is convinced we are all just hoodlums and just out there to cause trouble.

And the new sherriff bringing it to the DA's attention to try to get Wentsel ousted and not wanting the clubs out there as well don't help.

tell the sheriff that we can either do this in a controlled area or you can try and catch us on the road.

We already have street drag racing where the hollywood producers get the road they used blocked off, ie the show Street Outlaws. They never mention that on the show. This season I noticed they made a comment that they had a certain time they had to stop racing by or they would lose there site.

This is why you plan ahead on a multilane road.

As a freshman at a local College in Edmond rode with a friend in his vette to Norman, OU to see his girlfriend. Heading back we were crunched to make it back to class in time and he went 140. We pulled into the parking lot just in time to walk in to class. As we were leaving the lot a police car pulled up and announce whichever of us had the keys to that vette was getting a ticket.

Reminds me of that old lady crossing in front of me braking heavily to turn into a rest home. Costed me $3000 because I hit her from behind making it my fault and didn't want it reported on my insurance. Guess I shouldn't have braked when she started coming over into my lane and let her hit the side of my Cayenne. Causing a lot more damage to both vehicles, but would have been her fault.

It was not that way.

I am sure everyone has met someone and right away, you just simply did not like them at all. No particular reason, just instant dislike. Prater and Whetzel were two men that flat don't like each other personally or professionally. Since they were both officers of the law for the county, they had to work together. Prater made it hard on the sheriff to do his job. Whetzel just shut down the autocross access for any non law enforcement to eliminate one issue that Prater did not like. Prater started an investigation into the sheriff, and that was one issue he could just close.

Now, every single member of the county commissioners are replaced, and the sheriff is replaced. We will have to find a new source to have an "IN" with them.

I was the inside source for getting the track last time. The former sheriff's wife and my wife are good friends. They both love dachshunds and they were over here to see our dachshunds and the Sheriff was sitting on our living room floor, play with the dogs when I approached him about using the track. He said he would talk to the captain in charge of the track, and I got the captains name and phone number and gave it to our region president at the time, Mike Lindsey.

We used it for almost 20 years with no issues.

Just went with what I was told when it was happening. Don't much matter to me any more.

Whatever you were told was not accurate for that situation.

I have been part of of the regional management for nearly 40 years. I am just too lazy now to work real hard on club issues. I have been treasurer for 12 years. I will likely be elected by default again for 2019 since no one else want the job. It is an easy job in the club. I have done every single part of the club, President, vice president, newsletter editor, membership chairman, treasurer, secretary, activities chairman and some jobs that don't exist anymore.

Got some kind of survey call Monday asking what damage the area earthquakes have caused...

I said I have some figurines of chickens on my plate rack around the top of the kitchen. The earthquakes have caused a few of them to freak out and jump off the rack committing suicide. So the earthquakes were causing chicken figurine suicides.

Now we know why the chicken figurine crossed the road.

The chicken figurines came as pairs, rooster and hen. Just hope it's not chicken figuring murder using the earthquakes to mislead any investigation into the chicken figurine disappearances. The surviving figurines are all pretty quiet about it. Bob would probably say it's a chicken figurine conspiracy. Since no plates or coffee cups have plummeted to their demise. Most likely a Big Plate conspiracy to get more space on the rail. The remaining chicken figurines and cups must be stiff with fear. Probably wouldn't take much to make them go to pieces.

One my nephews and nieces kids liked...

Why did the mouse cross the road?

Because it was stapled to the chicken.

One day closer to the weekend. I will be flying again today. Hopefully no thunderstorms to dodge today.
